The World of Narnia In the beginning, the difference between the Pevensie and Eustace brothers is highlighted. Eustace considers just proven facts as he likes reading science books. For that reason, he criticizes Edmund and Lucy’s imagination. He does not believe in fairy tales, magic stories or Narnia. „ Do you think it is worth reading science books only?

„ Or you find that only tales should be read?

In this film, the way into the world of Narnia is through a painting on the wall, but in the first issue it was through an old wardrobe, and in Prince Caspian, the gate into Narnia was in an underground station. These places are like ‘windows’ to get into a world of fantasy. „ Do you think that what we just can see is what counts, or you feel that we must take other invisible matters into account?

„ Is there any moment in the film when the invisible fact is dealt with?

„ How can the invisible turn into visible?

Faith is trust „ Who said these sentences? Order them and indicate whom they are told:

“If we have no faith, we have nothing” “In these matters faith is the only way” “This is not the right time to give up to fear” 123

Evil will be unavoidable The green mist represents the presence of evil, which spreads all over and everywhere, even sacrificing people. „ What is there beyond the mist?

„ Where does the green mist come from?

Remember that they are meant to corrupt goodness. It also adopts any form and puts all the characters to the test. “Everybody is about to be tried out” Coriakin says. Evil can even shape a horrible creature. „ What animal is it about?

„ Do you remember any other source in which a similar animal is also mentioned?

„ In the first release of the series, there is a character that reappears here now. Whom are we talking about?

“Lead us not into temptation” “In order to beat the darkness outside there, we must beat the one inside us!” Coriakin will say. “It is within our worst nightmares, in our most obscure wishes”. “Something’s playing with our minds” and leads them into darkness. Thus we can understand why they get to say: “we can’t see a thing!” Let’s see what the three temptations are about. Ä TEMPTATION FOR POWER: “You will be my king”. “I do not deserve my own Kingdom”.

Ä TEMPTATION FOR A GOOD IMAGE: “Make me as beautiful as she, whom I reckon much more beautiful”. „ Who has that temptation?

„ Who’s there to help?

Ä TEMPTATION FOR GREATER WEALTH: Great treasures appear and all is turned into gold. „ Who have that temptation?

„ Which two characters have that temptation? „ Who’s there to help? „ Who’s there to help?

„ Do you recall any prayer saying something like “lead us not into temptation”?

„ Write the complete prayer:

A change is possible! There comes a stage in which some characters choose evil, and they are transformed by it. This is the case of Eustace, who’s turned into a dragon. However, this is a way to change as long as they aren’t defeated by runaway or fear. Despite this, the characters can realise that we can’t win on their own. „ Who says the following sentences? “We haven’t accomplished it by ourselves”

“I wasn’t able to do that myself ”

Aslan, the lion, shows up three times to help our old characters. Whenever they see him, all changes and they learn repentance. Bear

in mind the moment when Aslan himself appears within one of the characters’ eye: „ Whom do we refer to?

Who are dead? Despite being hardly ever shown, there are some characters who get almost killed by evil. Ramandu’s daughter refers to them as “waking up some day, when all gets right”. „ Who are those missing or asleep?

„ What’s the meaning of Aslan’s removal of the dragon’s scales?

„ Why did he say that it did hurt but it was sweet?

The truth is that when people get transformed, then they can easily find out, as Reepicheep says, that “extraordinary things do happen just on extraordinary beings”. So, we can report about each individual “you are a wonderful enigma for me”, as Eustace, the nice and fighting mouse will say. And so forgiveness gives rise to many new opportunities. „ Which characters ever apologise?

When evil is beaten and thrown away Beating evil is not an easy task, but it is possible for our heroes as they’ve got some good allies: „ The enlightening wise man. Who’s he and how does he help them?

„ The leading star. Who is it and how does it help them?

„ Somebody coming to help. Who is that and how is that help granted?

Aslan or their faithful and trustworthy friend Aslan is indeed the great protagonist; although he is not shown more than three times, he’s very often recalled. Apart from that, his figure appears in three others places so that we can consider him:

„ What was that Table for?

„ Do you remember where he is represented?

The signs of their victory Ramandu’s daughter once remembers Aslan’s Table and knife, what has to do with something else in The Lion, the Witch, the Wardrobe.

When victory occurs, things change. Let’s focus on two relevant changes: „ From darkness into light: How is this presented in the film?

„ Can you remember what exactly happened there? „ From death into life: How is this done?

„ Who’s the only one to succeed in getting there?

„ What’s his farewell like? Why does he say “I know I am not worthy?

A voyage far beyond Their voyage consists in reaching the world’s ends, Fyagein, beyond the seas. As the swords - mouse would sing: “where the sky and the sea merge (meet), where the sea waves get mild and sweet”. This place will also be reported as the one beyond the far end, which happens to be Aslan’s land. Only the very little ones bearing a very big heart can get there.

„ What does this far beyond place mean?

A mystery we are offered to reveal

„ What’s the other animal incarnating Aslan?

Lucy asks Aslan if he will ever be in their real world, to which Aslan replies: „ What does he invite them to? “I am, but bearing another name. You’ll have to learn to call me for that name. This was the very reason why he brought you to Narnia, so that, by knowing me here for some time, you could get to know me much more there!” (The chronicles of Narnia. The voyage of the Dawn Treader, by C. S. Lewis).

„ What is Aslan’s other name?

In the book, Aslan is also presented in the body of another animal. But to learn this, you’ll need to read the final chapter:

„ Whom does he remind you of?
