Names of Allah – Ash Shaafi 14th February 2012 Jannathullah alaa ardhl is when u study the names of Allah Subahanawatha'la! Subahanallah! When u have the knowledge of Allah az’awajal even if u are illiterate then u will have the knowledge of everything! Because u have the core of all the knowledge- knowledge of Allah az’awajal! Now we are doing about the name of Allah Ash Shaafi! And Subahanallah Allah is the source of all the Shifaa and today we are talking of 2 kinds of Shifaa: 1. Mardhl Ul Abdaan [ For the Body] o Mental Sickness o Physical Sickness 2. Mardhl Ul Quloob [For the Heart] So previously all the sickness’s we learnt were coming under the topic of Mardhl Ul Abdaan [Sickness of the Body]! And today we are talking about a different type of amraath and not all people have an interest in this kind of sickness! People they worry more about the Mardhl ul Abdaan because they fear the sickness of the body because they fear death right! But when I tell u of a sickness more severe and dangerous but people think it is so minor is: Mardhl ul Quloob! Sickness of the heart! The sickness of the heart if u didn’t diagnose it and didn’t know about it, and u live your life with this sickness and never cure yourself of it then what will happen? It will destroy his life It will also destroy his hereafter! It will lead him to the hellfire! Allah Subahanawatha'la created the hellfire for the hearts because the heart has sickness’s and needs to be purified! So we need to diagnose these sicknesses here in the dhunya and cure them before it is too late! Allah az’awajal has even commanded us to purify the sicknesses of the heart! Surah Jumu’ah ayat 2
ِ ْم َو ُ َ ُ ُ ُم$ِ ْم آ َ ِ ِ َو َُز ) َ( ٍل ُ ِ ٍن ِ*"َ ْ ُل+َ ُْوا ِ ن َ

َ َ َ ھ َُو ا"!ذِي ْ َ َ ث ِ ا ْ ُ َن َر ُو ً ِ ْ ُ ْم َ ْ ُو $َ ْ َوإِن-َ َ $ْ .ِ "ب َو ْا َ َ $ِ "ْا
He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book (this Qur'ân, Islâmic laws and Islâmic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah (AsSunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, of Prophet Muhammad SAW). And verily, they had been before in mainfest error;
ِ ْم$ َو َُزis the word! A command from Allah! Where Allah Subahanawatha'la sent the messengers to purify our hearts! The messengers and the prophets and the dua’s are all doctors of the heart!!!! They diagnose the sickness and show us of the symptoms and teach us how to cure it! Because our heart is so important in our life- physically and for our aakhira also! And the more sickness of the heart we have the more the heart will die and perish and if the heart dies then the body dies because the person won’t do what Allah az’awajal wants him to do! The heart is like the controller and it has an effect on the limbs right! The prophet sallallahu’alayhi’wasallam said there is piece of flesh in the body if it is good and reformed then all of your body will be good, but of this flesh is corrupted then all of your body is corrupted! This is the heart! Take even the relationships with people and the problems we have with them or them treating us unjustly etc….all of it relates to the sickness of the heart right! Subahanallah! And we spoke of the trials and the place of the trials – in the heart! Our test is actually the purification of our heart! Nurturing of our heart! And when we don’t purify our heart then on the Day of Judgment Allah Subahanawatha'la won’t accept anything from anyone except the person who came to Allah az’awajal with a pure heart! Surah Shu’arah ayat 89 89.

Except him who brings to Allâh a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifâq (hypocrisy)]. So why did Allah Subahanawatha'la create the heart? Now Allah Subahanawatha'la created the eyes for us to see and all right! But the heart? To be alive, for circulation and blood movement etc… but then also the heart was created as a house where love and magnification of Allah is there! But it doesn’t mean u hate everyone! This house is the core and everything else goes around it! Imagine if we use our heart for other things: to be filled with other distractions and be attached to humans etc…. this means the heart is sick right! So how do we know if a heart is healthy? If it has the LOVE of Allah and the MAGNIFICATION of Allah! So look at your heart. Are you really filling your heart with the love and magnification and attachment to Allah? Look at your actions!
If u see yourself as soon as u hear a command u do it, or your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah, or you love to attend the Dars and be with righteous company, you always want to help people especially the poor, or when people go for hajj and Umrah u long to go there, when u hear the adhaan your heart jumps etc….. This is the HEALTHY HEART-------------> QALBUN SALEEM! And sometimes not everyone has it right! Sometimes we feel lazy and sometimes we don’t always do it right! So when our ibaadah starts to decrease then we know OUR HEART IS SICK! THESE ARE THE SYMPTOMS! So when we realize the symptoms and we think ok these are just ups and downs and I'm just feeling lazy etc….and the more we ignore it the more the sickness it will increase and increase! Because the sickness of the heart if u have one and didn’t cure it, it will increase and will bring another sickness with it! Like how cancer spreads all over it is the same! E.g.: u are proud of yourself and u always look at the mirror and admire yourself etc…u don’t look down on others but u look at yourself! And if u don’t cure this sickness then it will go to kibr and u will compare yourself to others and u might start backbiting etc… Another thing is that the sickness of the heart is untangible and u cannot touch it or see it and is very contagious! How? If u sit with a person who always complains and grumbles about Allah etc…then u will also catch it right! Or if u are with a person who always is proud and backbites etc. wont u also be the same? Yes! Now any sickness needs planning right! It happens over time right! Like sickness of the limbs u need to plan and think of what to backbite or spread or even a sickness of the limbs u need to think of where to meet so and so that u can commit zinah etc… But the sickness of the heart has no planning! It is so dangerous! Subahanallah and they add up one by one! So for the sickness of the heart u need a STRICT DIET! Subahanallah! If we do it for the body then we can do it for the heart right! This is why the knowledge of the heart is so much more important than the knowledge of the limbs! So those who don’t cure their hearts it will leave to a dead heart- meaning where anything about Allah Subahanawatha'la or about the prophet sallallahu’alayhi’wasallam has no effect on him! Their heart is dead and more dead than stone even! Because even naturally when we get sick we don’t like the usual things we like right! So the heart when it becomes sick until it will die what will happen?
The truth he will see as falsehood and the falsehood he will see it as good!
Subahanallah! May Allah Subahanawatha'la give us all Qalbun Saleem! Ameen!!!! So for the sickness of the heart there are symptoms! And one of the symptoms is the FITRAH! Our nature! Our common sense where we are able to differentiate between the right and the wrong! And sometimes even children are having the sickness of the heart and they are jealous or they are proud and all and us as parents we cannot encourage them! We cannot make them think they need to be confident or make them show off or try hard to be number one etc…. Because people will say oh its competition and not hasadh who said that etc… but on the Day of Judgment we all have one exam and no competition! We mustn’t encourage our children and tell them to be bold and forward and get revenge and take her rights etc… don’t let the shaitan beautify the sickness of the heart! So for us our goal is that we ask Allah Subahanawatha'la to purify our hearts from all the sicknesses! And before we know what the sicknesses are and how to cure them we need the RELIANCE ON ALLAH! We ask Allah Subahanawatha'la to make it easy for us to diagnose and get the cure for that sickness of the heart because no doctor can tell us of this but Allah az’awajal! He is the real source of the cure! So before we take the list of the cures and all we need to make Allah as our thabeeb! Thabeeb means the doctor- the one who helps us to diagnose the sickness! Rely on Allah az’awajal as is only able to give us the cure and this thabeeb is for everyone! U don’t need money or to take tests or x-rays nothing! U just need to flee to Allah Subahanawatha'la! Ibn Qayyim rahimullah said: There is no punishment worse than the dead heart! Because your heart is far from Allah Subahanawatha'la and u cannot enjoy the prayer and u cannot enjoy the Salah or remembering Allah Subahanawatha'la as a permanent barrier forms between u and Allah! Ibn Qayyim rahimullah also said: Allah Subahanawatha'la didn’t create the fire except to melt the hardened dead hearts! Allah Subahanawatha'la said in the Quran that the fire of the Naar will penetrate until it will go to the heart! Ibn Qayyim rahimullah also said: When the heart is dead what will increase it in its hardness? Excessive food, excessive sleeping, excessive talking, excessive mingling! Subahanallah!
So never eat too much or never eat until you are full! And even over sleeping doesn’t it make your brain also feel a little slow! Excessive talking especially the vain talk is not a good thing and so is excessive mingling! Because when u are always out mingling u have no time for yourself right and in the heart u need it to be a house for the love and magnification of Allah and a house is never constantly moving right but it is in one place right! Subahanallah!
