The Housing and Urban Fringe of Ibadan Nigeria, Historical Contemporary Relevance Ibraheem Mikail ABIOLA1 Abstract This paper discusses the history, organisational and policy structure of the Ibadan, Nigeria urban planning scene. It provides some insights into the characteristics of the housing and urban planning frameworks in the city, using specific examples. The contention in the paper is that, even in the face of a very rapid urban growth and acute urban management problem, planning in Ibadan has continuously exhibited policy and institutional inconsistency, fragmentation and an absence of demonstrable national commitment. The focus has not been a detailed analysis in nature and goal for the development of planning nor a critical evaluation of various national and state development plans in Ibadan and in Nigeria as a whole that had planning and related activities. Risk Management and Ethical Issues in Social Work Kuralay ABISHEVA1 Leila ASSYLBEKOVA2 Abstract In a world risk society, managing risk is a daily challenge for all social workers throughout the world. Risk can and does change over time dependent on a whole range of various factors. Risk management is essentially a teleological approach to ethics and it refers to efforts to protect clients (mainly persons in a vulnerable and difficult life situation), practitioners, and employers. Ethical awareness is fundamental to the professional social work practice where respect for human rights and diversities, a commitment to promoting social justice, taking collective responsibility are at the core of it. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the main risk management and ethical issues in contemporary social work practice. The theory and practice of the risk management and ethical issues in social work are reviewed and summarized. The most common risks facing social workers are identified and the main risk management approaches are highlighted. It is found that risk management is a dynamic and evolving process and requires development and use of different skills for work with risks and ethical issues. Social workers could use a variety of methods to manage risks and ethical issues namely the consulting with a supervisor, applying the Code of Ethics, using a decision-making model for critical thinking, and applying ethical theories (deontology, teleology). It is concluded that ability and commitment of social workers to act ethically is one of the essential aspects of risk management in social work. Recommendations concerning the development of the social work practice regarding the risk management and ethical issues are given. Critique to Pro-Cyclical Admission in Maritime Higher Education Ovidiu ACOMI1 Nicoleta ACOMI2 Abstract The paper represents a critical analysis of the options ahead of maritime universities in terms of number of students admitted, particularly in periods of industry downturns. The study focuses on the global maritime industry and analyses the patterns of the industry cycle. These patterns are characterised in macroeconomic terms by peaks, troughs and secular long term trends. The current maritime industry faces chronic global trade imbalances in the context of slow global economic. The secular trend has flattened and the industry is clearly in the downturn. These patterns envisage both cyclical and structural unemployment components. This paper addresses the maritime universities’ options associated with cyclical unemployment of maritime graduates. These options include pro-cyclical, counter-cyclical or level capacity approaches in the students’ admission capacity planning, depicted by the duration of studies and the offset between admission and graduation. The analysis overlays the graduate studies and industry cycles and proposes to evaluate the different scenarios based on industry outlook and determine the optimum admission policy solution. Diversification of Seafarers’ Employability Paths Nicoleta ACOMI1 Ovidiu ACOMI2 Abstract Romania’s admission following the extension of the EU and the globalisation of the maritime industry exposed Romanian employees to the maritime labour market. This market is characterised by increased competition determined by technological advancement and the emerging new South East Asian maritime nations. These conditions were exacerbated by the increased wage expectations of the European maritime labour force. On the demand side, the maritime industry has historically been characterised by lack of marine officers, in particular of senior rank, but current slow global economic recovery and the weak commodity demand tend to level the scorecard. These changes affected the marine global labour market and led to structural unemployment among Romanian seafarers. Romanian seafarers are also in a disadvantageous position because the recruitment companies are situated predominantly in the Western Europe. The current situation requires targeted policies such as job retraining and acquiring of transversal skills. The diversification of marine sector, extending from well-known seagoing ships to offshore platforms, vessel inspection, quality control, marine environment protection or marine casualties investigations, determines marine training institution to adapt their curricula to the labour market by developing professional programmes. Considering the traditional purpose of marine universities – to prepare marine officer, and the labour market requirements – marine officers highly qualified in specific fields, this paper aims at analysing the possibility to establish a unified system for transparency and recognition of skills and qualification. Keywords: marine qualifications, marine labour market, seafarers. Biodata Assoc. Recollecting the Past: the Testimony and its Role in the Process of Coming to Terms with the Past Elena ADAM1 Abstract The performative nature of remembrance, Jay Winter (2010) points out, is marked by the act of listening, of attending to the voices of victims and survivors. Oral history is, in this way, one of the main resources of recuperative memory. Many victims of the communist regime never had the option of writing their memoirs; oral narratives were the only way for them to transmit their stories (Schwab 2012; Brockhaus 2012; Reulecke 2010). Different interviews collected in personal or public archives reveal the mediated nature of collective memory. The testimonies not only have to inform others about past atrocities, but also help individuals develop personal recuperative memory. Individuals attempt to re-create their personal narratives and identities: “What the experience of trauma does is fragment the observing ‘I’, and the experience itself is no longer a whole. What we are left with are traumatic fragments” (Laub and Finchelstein 2010, 56). The process of giving testimony “allows for the fragments to find the frame of reference” (Laub and Finchelstein 2010, 56-57), helping the victims to reconstruct a narrative of past events and their own historical narrative. In Romania the process of coming the terms with past was initially characterized by political reluctance to explore the communist legacy. The direct testimony was mainly the most used method of presenting and exploring the past traumas. The research proposed here focuses on the role of testimony in reappropriating the past from the second or third generation perspective – those who did not experienced directly the traumatic communist past, but are made witness to the past through the victims and survivors’ voices. How the testimonies influenced the way in which these generations relate to the past? And in each way the interpretation of the past is influenced by the narratives of those who experienced directly the past traumas? These are some of the questions that guide the present research. Keywords: communism, recollecting the past, testimony, victims, Romania. Biodata PhD Elena ADAM Adam Elena has a PhD in History (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Romania) and she is working as postdoctoral researcher. She published several studies in high ranked journals and currently she focuses her research on the relation between cinema culture and the Romanian post-communist society. She is also working on a project concerning the recuperative memory and its forms in the Romanian post-communist society and the present study is part of this extended research. On Atheists and Unilateral Contradictions Anton ADĂMUŢ1 Abstract Hans Jonas, in the conference and then in the text The Concept of God after Auschwitz, develops an analysis of the concept of God after all the horrors from Auschwitz. What’s going on in the interrogation on God after Auschwitz? Everything comes back, in the end, to raising again the issue of theodicy. How is reconciled God and his concept, with violence, with the extermination of Jews by the Nazis? We cannot attribute the existence of evil to the infidelity of the Hebrew people. Then, why Auschwitz? Jonas asks himself: how did God allowed this thing be possible? What is the meaning of this massacre? The issue is, in fact, another: which is that God, and how is he as he allowed this to be possible? Jonas here invokes theodicy, in the way it was formulated by Leibniz and known to all Christian theologians before him. Except that now, the interrogation is also dotted! Therefore: does God has anything anymore to do with history? I answer to these questions starting from Psalm 13, 1 and from a report that can be established between Socrates and Jesus. Keywords: Hans Jonas, Socrates, Jesus, atheist, unilateral contradiction. Biodata Professor PhD Anton ADĂMUŢ Professor at the “Al. I. Cuza” University from Iasi, Department of Philosophy. Typology of Managerial Errors in Healthcare Institutions – A Necessary Radiography in the Romanian Medical System Daniela Tatiana AGHEORGHIESEI (CORODEANU)1 Mihaela BOANCĂ2 Vladimir POROCH3 Abstract Regardless of the field of activity, reality confirms that managers commit errors or make mistakes in the activity they coordinate and the decisions they make. Nevertheless, we notice that the literature in the field does not pay enough attention to admitting and analysing these aspects and the consequences on the results and the situation of the organizational stakeholders. Knowing the types of errors can be an important step in preventing some negative situations, sometimes with irreparable effects, but at the same time it offers the chance to learn based on the reflection on causes and effects. The method of research is qualitative and focused on the content analysis of several articles in the media presenting managerial situations signalled to the public opinion. The paper brings to attention the question of managerial errors in healthcare institutions. The research currently carried out has the objective of identifying the categories of errors committed by managers of medical institutions in Romania, the reasons and consequences. The first results show that many mistakes or errors are generated by the lack of preoccupation to observe some ethical values and principles. The Relations of Women Employees’ Career Barriers and Organization Culture: a Research in Konya Tahir AKGEMCI1 Emine ET OLTULU2 Sefa ÇETIN3 Abstract Today, the number of literate and educated women is increasing, and in parallel with this the number of business women is growing too. Despite this rise, women are facing a number of career obstacles in their business life. Women do not have equal share in business environments compared to men in terms of facing a variety of problems in career steps, not having the right to speak, not being involved in important decision-making processes and being excluded from managerial positions due to men presence. This research is consisted of 3 sections. In the first section, culture and organizational culture terms were researched. In the second section, career obstacles and the relationship between career obstacles and organizational culture were studied. Moreover in this section, glass ceiling syndrome was examined in terms of conceptual meaning. In the last section which is the application part of this research, in light of the findings based on literature review, a questionnaire was conducted with 75 women employees who were working in Konya city and its counties to find out more about their career obstacles and organizational culture. Surrogate Mothers and Reproductive Tourism Monica ALEXANDRU1 Abstract Surrogate mothers are extremely sought for by families who cannot procreate, particularly in the Western countries, where the purchasing power is higher. The persons who offer themselves to be surrogate mothers usually come from very poor countries, have no education and do not ask for too much money for such services. It is easy enough for such a transaction to have an unexpected and unhappy ending, especially for the service providers themselves. The internet favors such practices. „At just one click away”, a center for reproductive medicine provides information on the „mandatory conditions” to be met by surrogate mothers, and offers its services to anybody interested in them. In Romania the persons who offer themselves to be surrogate mothers are women with a poor financial condition and a low education level. Unfortunately, these women do not take into account the risks they expose themselves to and the potential harmful consequences of the medical procedures involved. Homeo-Pathos and Hetero-Pathos – Two Types of Ethics Pompiliu ALEXANDRU1 Abstract In this article we draw a few lines in response to some questions: For different types of medical management, necessarily does exist different types of ethics which are deducted from each medical method? Is the ethical system influenced by objective medical approach system? Thus, the method will be a comparative one, and we use in this case a conceptual analysis. There are also two types of ethics that overlap and complement each other in homeopathy case of. It can be said that in this case we are witnessing an ethical medical system which extend the ethical principles in the middle of the medical method itself. Quality of Life in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis - a Case Report Evis ALLUSHI1 Abstract Introduction: A very important goal of treatment of MS patients is the reduction of negative impact of the disease and life quality of these patients. The case shows that rehabilitation and care including the medical treatment have made it possible that this patient has lived for 23 years with MS, even though in a wheel chair. Case presentation: The 55 year old woman had the first signs of the disease when she was 35 years in Italy after she had an MRI. From 1999-2001 she used interpheron. From 2001 to 2004 she did not use any medication, but had rehabilitation in Albania and abroad. During all this time she had a tremendous support from her family and rehabilitation enabled her to be stable. The patient has not walked from 5 years, but she has a normal life. The swallowing difficulty is a disturbing sign when stimulated from external factors, she also has manifested rigid fingers during the last year. Two months ago she had the last MRI, without any changes or further worsening. The psychological condition appears fine, without mental problems. From the self report we are informed that the patient believes that the rehabilitation and physiotherapy is better for her than the medical treatment. Conclusions: Our patient from 23 years lives with the disease. The cause of the disease according to the doctors was facial paralyses she suffered when she was 24 years old. During all these years, this patient has acquired the positive effects of the rehabilitation during the last five years, as she has kept her stable condition. The continuous massage of her feet, arms, neck muscles, the use of small balls to move the fingers are some of the most used exercises. Keywords: multiple sclerosis, rehabilitation, physiotherapy. Islamic Approach for Developing Muslim-Christian Interfaith Dialogue and Communications Taher AMINI GOLESTANI1 Abozar ANDALIB ARMAKI2 “and surely you will find the nearest of them in affection to the faithful to be those who say" We are Christians." That is because there are priests and monks among them and because they are not arrogant”. (Holy Qur‟an 5-82)

Abstract Islam and Christianity are two of the most numerous and the most influential of the world religions today. They share many points in common as religions. Most important of all they trace their lineage to one common ancestor, Abraham, who is the Divine Patriarch of the religions, called after him as the Abrahamic religions. Knowing this, for any religious person among these two, it is a must to endeavour for approximation of them more and more, due to the world‘s today‘s situation filled with challenge and tension. This paper tries to elaborate on Prophet Muhammad’s famous letter to Christians of St. Catherin in Sinai Mount, known as “the Promise of Muhammad to Christians till End of the World”. Through this perspective we can perceive and differentiate between true Islam and false Islam introduced by extremists. Now, the main question is this: ―what are the theoretical elements for developing Muslim Christian Interfaith Dialogue and Communication?‖: and Why it is so much talked about today and is so much important? What are the religious leaders ‘perspectives about this phenomenon ― the future of the world is bound to the future of Islam and Christianity‘s Dialogue‖ (2012). Following the strong statements of the religious scholars and referring to some solid verses of the holy Qur‘an and narrations from the holy Prophet of Islam(S) and His Ahlulbayt (PBUT) and the statements of other great thinkers, one will conclude that, Muslim Christian Dialogue, is inevitable. Freedom of Conscience. Legal, Philosophical and Religious Implications Marius ANDREESCU1 Abstract Conscience is a defining existential reality of man, whose meaning can be seen only through an interdisciplinary unceasing effort of thinking and knowledge. In this study, we propose to make such an analysis of the conscience as an ontological foundation and characteristic of man, in its individual and social dimension, whose basis is made up of philosophical, theological and legal ideas, concepts and theories. Freedom of conscience is the main feature of the manifestations of man as a person within the specific environment of his/her existence. From the legal point of view, freedom of conscience is a complex fundamental right requesting a wide legislative system in order to establish and guarantee it. In our opinion, both the basis and the legitimacy of the legal system protecting the freedom of conscience are given by the philosophical truths and the truths of faith, as expressed in theological writings and meditations. In this study, we identify the theological and philosophical bases of the freedom of conscience and their reflection in the legal field. Keywords: Self-conscience /Conscience of inner self / Social conscience /Freedom of conscience as a fundamental right / theological, philosophical and legal meanings of conscience and freedom of conscience /constitutional guarantees. The Limits of State Power in a Democratic Society Marius ANDREESCU1 Abstract The coding is not only the expression of the political will of the law maker, it firstly is a complex juridical technique for the choosing and systematization of the normative content necessary and adequate to certain social, political, economic, institutional realities. Since Constitution is a law, yet it nevertheless distinguishes itself from the law, the problem is to establish which juridical norms it contains. The solving of this problem needs to consider the specific of the fundamental law and also of the requirements of the coding theory. The determining with all scientific stringency of the normative content of the Constitution is indispensible both for the removal of any inaccuracy in delimiting the differences from the law, for the stability and predictability of the fundamental law and last, but not the least, for the reality and effectiveness of its supremacy. In our study we realize an analysis based on compared criterions of the techniques and exigencies for the choosing and systematization of the constitutional norms with reference to their specific, to the practice of other states and within a historical context. The analysis is aiming to the actual proposals for the revising of the Constitution. Keywords: Constitutional norms, constitutional norm establishing criterions, technical - juridical structure, supremacy of Constitution, normative content. The Financial and Economic Approch in Educational System Valentin Marian ANTOHI1 Abstract The development of modern societies and education became dependent on the human assets in a proportion concurrent to the economic and financial assets. The study of this present social conditions have to face allows for the delimitation of the larger context in which Romanian universities have to operate, and proves why staying put or going back to a mythical past are no longer viable options. In our times, education development means to face the new social and economic–financial requirements and pressure and to improve the activity and performances by adopting some convenient general structural changes. In a society of knowledge, like the contemporary developed societies, the university as a social institution invested with the role to promote knowledge and values has a fundamental position. In this context the measure of a society’s development may be emphasized not only by the economic and financial indicators, but also by those related to higher education, indicators related to the way knowledge and learning are organized, to the types of performance expected, to the quality of educational activity, and to the ways that is supported by economic and financial policies. New Tendencies of International Law at the Beginning of XXIst Century: Towards a Global Charter of People’s Rights Madalina Virginia ANTONESCU1 Abstract At the beginning of the XXIst century, international law remains in its essence an inter-state law, which doesn’t recognise nations as distinct subjects of law (with the exception of peoples fighting for their independence). Within the present paper, we propose a study devoted to the idea that, in the future, within the context of fundamental shifts of the global world, so, inclusively due to the inevitable developments of international law, peoples will become distinct subjects of law, in comparison with states, as owners of rights and obligations that are specific to the new international law, as we’ll try to show. Starting from the consecration of the third generation of human rights as rights of solidarity, surpassing the strictly individual field of legal protection, new categories of fundamental rights for the peoples can be developed, recognised as such by the states and international organisations, on the basis of sustainable development and of the “no one will be left behind“ principles, that are consecrated inclusively in the 2030 Agenda. Keywords: states, new international law, peoples, 2030 Agenda, collective rights of peoples, rights of solidarity. Global Diplomacy within the Framework of Global Governance Madalina Virginia ANTONESCU1 Abstract The first section of our paper is devoted to the definition of the ”global governance”, accompanied by some general remarks about the main features of this political concept; within the other sections, we’ll try to briefly analyze the concept of ”global society”, the concept of ”harmonious global society”, the global actors as those capable to initiate, to develop, and to follow constantly an agenda with global issues, actors perceived and self-defined as actors of global diplomacy. Neither the global society (composed by a range of global regimes in full expansion and improvement; by a range of international institutions, one of them in train of being globalized -as emancipating from the mandate of the states-; by principles of global sustainable governance), neither the global society can be developed outside a minimum conceptualisation of what it is ”global diplomacy”. In our paper, we’ll analyse the types of global diplomacy, deriving from the main IR conceptions and theories, which offers, each of them, an interesting perspective about our world. Keywords: global governance, global society, harmonious global society, global diplomacy, global actors. Global Green Diplomacy and New Tendencies in International Law Madalina Virginia ANTONESCU1 Abstract The XXIst century global society is already a fact: it is developed on the basis of key-documents adopted under the aegis of UN, designed to implement the “sustainable development” pattern, instead of the “consumer-type of society” obsolete pattern. 2030 Agenda, as a recent UN document, is providing legal and conceptual tools for imagining new types of visionary legal terms, as “global ecodiplomacy”, “global eco-politics”, “eco-sovereignty”, “eco-nations” etc. Necessity to adapt all fields of policy and legislation (at infra-national, national, regional and international fields) to the growing demands of protecting environment and planet leads to exploratory studies about new forms of international law and about new evolutions of its basic principles. Keywords: environmental global risks, global ecopolitics, global ecodiplomacy, eco-sovereignty, eco-nations. Rights of Planet Earth: beyond the 2030 Agenda Madalina Virginia ANTONESCU1 Abstract One of the main contributions of the document named “2030 Agenda” at the fundamental shift towards a new conception about Earth, nature, environment is the direct consecration of a juridical dimension devoted to Planet Earth, as one of its essential conceptual pillars (among others as people, public-private partnership). The inclusion of Planet Earth within the main pillars of 2030 Agenda is one of particular relevance, inclusively for abandoning the vitiated consumist pattern of present human habitats and for the need to adopt a sustainable type of global pattern. Holistic conception about human civilization as not being separated from the Earth but living in a harmonious, durable way with nature and planet is a new type of multidimensional paradigm, destined to improve not only the level of human rights protection but also, the level of nature protection and of Earth itself, perceived as a home and as an unique, fragile biosphere, vital for the human life. Preservation of biodiversity, green energy, post-industrial societies, urban agriculture are some keycomponents of the new, sustainable pattern, promoted actively by the visionary 2030 Agenda. The present paper tries to look further than 2030 Agenda, by proposing some special rights for the planet Earth regarded as distinct subject of global law, from the perspective of the future legal regimes. Keywords: Planet Earth, 2030 Agenda, international environmental law, biosphere, consumption pattern, holistic conception. The New Outline of the Institution of Adoption in Romania Following the Modifications of Law No.273/2004 Regarding the Legal Regime of Adoption Irina APETREI1 Abstract In Romania after 1989, the institution of adoption has suffered numerous legislative modifications. Thus, the following regulations were successively made: Law no.11/1990 regarding the approval of adoption, which brought a series of corrections to the Family Code from 1954, The Emergency Ordinance no.25/1997 regarding the legal regime of adoption, which created a new and unitary framework for this institution, overriding all previous regulations and Law no. 273/2004 regarding the legal regime of adoption, which was passed in order to harmonize the Romanian legislation in the field of the adoption procedures with the international regulations and practices in the field. As far as the basic conditions of adoption, these are currently comprised in the Civil Code from 2009, which abrogated the Civil Code from 1864 and Family Code. At the moment, Romania s Parliament adopted the Bill for the modification and completion of Law no.273/2004 regarding the legal regime of adoption, sent for promulgation to thee President of Romania, to be enforced 120 days from the publication of the law in the Official Gazette. The paper conducts an analysis of the latest legislative modifications in the field of adoption, regarding the reduction of certain terms of the applicable procedure, the speedy granting of the statute of adoptable child, the revision of the procedure of matching of the child with the adopter/adopting family, the increase of the validity term for the certificate of adopting family, the approval of a vacation of maximum one year for the parent and child to get accustomed to one another, as well as sanctioning parents who are indifferent to the fate of abandoned children and who fail to approve their adoption. Keywords: the institution of adoption, modifications to the Law no.273/2004. Conjugal Individualism – Premise for Legalizing the Consensual Union in Romania Iulian APOSTU1 Abstract In the past 14 years, the legalization of consensual union in Romania has become not only a legal challenge, but also a social one. The legal context of legalizing the concubinage starts from the premise of conjugal individualism, specific for postmodernity, while the social context seems to transmit solidarity, basic condition for the traditional or modern type of conjugality. The social data shows an incomplete assimilation of modernity: an “update” of social opinions regarding the equity of role and gender which cannot be found in the couples’ behavior. Today, couples have a “declared” modern style, while the role and gender behavior still shows consistent traditional influences. Centered on these two dimensions – solidarity/individualism, the research aims to conduct a qualitative study which would evaluate in comparison the opinions of the conjugal couple with regard to family or its alternative – consensual union. The results of the study shows that the transition of conjugal structures from the communitarian type of family, to the nuclear one, creates fluctuations of value which lead to confusions of conceptual perception in terms of solidarity, autonomy and independence of conjugal modernity. However, this fluctuation becomes the main cause which makes the autonomy gained by the modern conjugal structure of family to be associated with consensual union. Keywords: Solidarity, Individualism, Marriage, Conjugal modernity, Conjugal postmodernity. Biodata PhD Lecturer Iulian APOSTU Iulian APOSTU holds a PhD in Sociology (University of Bucharest, 2010) and is the author of several specialized studies about family sociology. On a large axis of conjugal diversity, its work examines the image of contemporary couple, focusing on structural transformations, from the classic marriage to the new functional benchmarks of the consensual union. Currently, Iulian Apostu is an Associate professor with the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest and a Researcher with the Centre for Research on the Social Structure and Processes, University of Bucharest. From March, 2016 is researcher at Institute of Sociology, Romanian Academy.

Family’s Role in Sustaining the Educational Trajectory of Children from Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Communities Otilia APOSTU1 Abstract Youth participation in education is, at the same time, a right and an obligation. Regarding it from the standpoint of different actors involved in the educational process reveals various perspectives of approaching and analyzing school participation. The family is one of the key actors of school participation with a significant input not only on the material and financial aspects of it, but also at the level of attitudes and practices valued and developed in relation to the child and his/her educational trajectory. Beyond all the determinants of a child’s school participation, regarding, for instance, educational policies, implemented strategies, or financial investments in education, the family has a critical role in his/her educational trajectory and future social and professional inclusion. The following aspects determine this essential role of the family: family’s great influence on the child’s first years within the context of primary socialization; family’s continuous action as a “model” for the child; the cultural capital that the family promotes; the sound understanding that it has regarding the child’s needs; and, finally, the amount of trust that the family invests in the school. The family’s influence on school participation of children from socially and economically underprivileged communities has, oftentimes, negative connotations translated into risks of absenteeism and dropping out of school. Starting from this general hypothesis, the present study aims at identifying and analyzing the family related factors that influence the school trajectory of children coming from socially and economically underprivileged communities. Within this purview, the analysis will attempt to: emphasize the particularities directly correlated with children’s school trajectories in case of families (parents) from underprivileged communities; identify the family-related factors with a significantly negative influence on the school trajectory of children; elaborate a set of potential solutions, strategies, and ameliorative policies that can contribute to the development of a school-family partnership in order to increase school participation. The analysis will rely on data provided by schools situated in socially and economically underprivileged communities about children enrolled in primary and secondary cycle and with the risk of dropping out of school. Additional information will be added by qualitative data obtained through focus group discussions with parents of students with the risk of dropping out of school. The results of the study can contribute to a better understanding of the family contexts of children from underprivileged communities who have the risk of dropping out of school as well as to the development of certain strategies to encourage school participation through family support. The entire analysis is framed by collaborative approaches that sustain a real and functional partnership between school and family. Keywords: education, family, participation, partnership school-family. 1

Error correction. Case Study: RFL Speaking Activities Antonela ARIEŞAN1 Lavinia-Iunia VASIU2 Abstract In what error correction during the speaking activities in a foreign language is concerned the opinions are divergent. While some specialists claim that the best way is to discuss them separately with the students, others argue saying that all the errors should be corrected on the spot. In this paper we will try to approach this issue by presenting the most important opinions on the matter in contrast with the actual situation – what it really happens in the classroom. After the administration of a set of questionnaires to both teachers and students of Romanian as foreign language we try to discover how errors in spoken language during the teaching and assessing activities are corrected. Finally, we will establish which are the most common, and liked methods of error correction, but also which of those are giving best results in the teaching process. The Socio-Cultural Criterion and the First Taught Words in RFL. Case Study: Viorel Păltineanu, Dicţionar practic pentru studenţi străini. 1000 de cuvinte româneşti Antonela ARIEŞAN1 Abstract The practical relevance in a real-life situation of some lexical items included in the course books and hereby, decided to be taught or assessed in a foreign language should depend on the frequency of those words in the target language, on the interest they represent for the learner, but also on their ability to express the speaker's needs in that specific situation. In this paper we analyze the results of a survey conducted between RFL teachers and foreign students (who have reached an advanced level in Romanian), based on the list of lexical items given in Viorel Păltineanu's Dicţionar practic pentru studenţi străini. 1000 de cuvinte româneşti. We try to establish, using the sociocultural criterion, if this words could still be the first lexical items presented to a foreign student, at A1-A2 levels, or, on the contrary, they should be excluded from this list. If this is the case, we provide a new set of words instead of the excluded ones. Keywords: Romanian as a foreign language, socio-cultural criterion, A1 –A2 levels, vocabulary. The Effects of Migration to EU Countries in the Case of the Active Population in Bihor County Arpad SZARKA1 Abstract The migration of population, of the labor force is mainly generated by globalization and the loss of stability caused by political and social conflicts from different countries where the standard of living and social security systems reach low levels, being a highly dynamic phenomenon. The Romanian migration is a major migration from Eastern to Western Europe, with highly dynamic characteristics, whose study requires a vision and a differentiated, comprehensive and complex approach. The countries preferred by the people gone abroad for work from Bihor county are Spain, Italy, England and France. Globally, remittances to developing countries rose in 2014 by 6.3%, that means USD 414 billion, and the World Bank estimates that this sum is to be EUR 540 billion by 2016. Nowadays, the migration of active labour force is a phenomenon with a rapid dynamics, generated mainly by globalization. The international migration is appreciated to imply about 200 million persons, which is double than 25 years ago. The migration of active labour force in Romania registered in the Community Countries reaches low levels, about 200.000 person, but the illegal one is appreciated to reach 1.7-2 million persons. The effects of migration are mainly due to: the loss of the tax payer – active labour force formed in Romania, the weakening of the social solidarity in the social security system, and in the same time, its increase in the destination countries , the remittance of some important amounts of money in the origin countries, the contact with other economic, social, cultural models. The evolution of remittance in the world is very dynamic, in 2007 it is said to be about 250 billion dollars ,from which 7,1 billion euro for our country, compared to 9,1 billion euro representing direct investments. The Concept of “Feminine Writing” (Feminine Literature) in the Past and Present Days in Romania Mihaela BACALI1 Abstract If we browse through the literary histories, we surprisingly notice that, at least until recent days, women writers are almost absent. What is the cause for such a phenomenon? Is there a feminine literature, or is it rather an invention of the feminists? If there is, is it a literature of the periphery? Is the alleged marginality a sociological problem or one of history of mentalities? Can we define it without making reference to the “masculine” literature? Here are some questions which prove the fact that the problem is a complex one that can hardly be put into strict conceptual frameworks. There are partisans of feminine literature, but there are also skeptics. We are going to try to define the concept by reviewing different opinions that have been expressed starting with the beginning of the 20th century, when the first women writers made their presence known, until the present days, when the phenomenon of feminine literature became a very well-known one in the literary field. Abandoning the dichotomy masculine-feminine or even the lack of differentiation, ideas that were manifested in the writing field too, become a symptom of modernity. Confronted with the perspective of absolute equality, but also with her desire to still be a woman, the “female writer” must face the new challenges of today’s world. Keywords: Feminine writing, theory, partisans, detractors, feminization of literature. Biodata PhD Mihaela BACALI Mihaela Bacali graduated The Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, with a double specialization: Romanian Language and Literature – French Language and Literature. She has been a French teacher since 1984, the year of her graduation, in two high-schools in Bucharest and starting with 1990 she is a full professor at the bilingual high-school Central School, Bucharest. In 2011 she returned to the University and started working on a PhD thesis on Romanian Literature, under the coordination of Professor Elena Zaharia-Filipaş – a thesis which she presented in 2014. It was entitled Lucian Blaga in the Literary and Cultural Context of the Periodical “Gândirea” and in 2015 it was published in two volumes: the first bearing the title above, and the second one entitled Lucian Blaga. Friendships and Enmities. After finishing the thesis, missing the environment of intellectual efforts and the research, she decided to renew her writing experience, this time in French. She started working on a new PhD thesis, concentrated on the Romanian feminine francophone literature. At PhD. The Impact of Romanian Migration in the UK. An Analysis of Romanian Migrants Profile in the UK Marius Mihail BADEA1 Abstract The European migration has become an increasingly debated issue in the UK since 2004, the year of EU accession of the A8 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia), when the labor market has been opened for their citizens. As well, in 2004, in UK, the migration of citizens from A2 countries (Romania and Bulgaria) increased considerably, although, they didn’t formally join the EU. The issue of migration in the UK has become even more acute and controversial since 2007, when A2 countries have become member of EU. These mass arrivals have changed the economic and social dynamics in many areas of the UK, engendering anxieties about the impact of these fast changes due to inclusions of other populations. The greatest challenges arise with the arrival of the newcomers who do not know how life works in the UK, having different cultural practices. The present research aims to show to what extent those who come to UK to work hard and contribute to the welfare of the communities they belong, manage to integrate and understand their rights and responsibilities as residents of the UK. The paper also examines how British society perceives the situation of Romanians in the UK, in the context of free movement of workers within the EU. Also, the study aims to accurately present the Romanian migrants profile in the UK. Keywords: migration, Romanian migrants profile, cultural practices, labor market, British society. Predicting Job Strain with Psychological Hardiness, Organizational Support, Job Control and Work Overload: an Evaluation of Karasek’s DCS Model Seçil BAL TAŞTAN1 Abstract This study was built on Karasek's Model of Job Strain while predicting strain with job demands, personal and organizational resources, and control over work. Karasek proposed that work situations could be classified in terms of the balance they offer between the demands on the employee and level of control employee can exert over those demands, as a way to gain insight into the connection between type of occupation and health. The model was subsequently extended to consider support at work: the demand-control-support, or DCS model. Work characterized by high demands, low decision latitude, and low support decreases health and well-being. It is proposed that as a personal resource psychological hardiness—the tendency to derive meaning from stressful events—would be negatively related to job strain, while work overload as a job demand would be positively related with job strain. As it was proposed in the model of Karasek, having control over job would decrease the level of job strain and organizational support as a collection of feeling support from organization, coworkers, and supervisors would be negatively related with perceived job strain. In order to test the propositions of the study, an empirical study was performed in Turkey among the employees working in banking and finance organizations. The research results were evaluated with their conceptual and practical implications. Keywords: Job strain, Psychological hardiness, Organizational support, Job control, Work overload. The Body and the Social Construction of Reality in Erving Goffman’s Microsociology Raluca BĂLĂIŢĂ1 Abstract In this article we aim at analysing the important role played by the body in diverse daily interactions as well as tracing the body’s status in the social reality, as these appear in E. Goffman's microsociology. The bodily copresence, the mutual perception of the bodies responding to certain constraints in certain situations integrate themselves into a system of signs and signifying symbols specific to different social and cultural codes. For Goffman the body represents the basis of communication, any information transmitted willingly or not by an individual in faceto-face interaction is embodied; at the same time the body acts as the vector of socialization, since any individual resorts to a series of adjustments which allow him to express his own personality coherently and which grant him the social recognition. This socialization presupposes a wide range of roles, masks, simulacra/simulations which let the actor build and define his own identity in relation to other persons. The originality of Goffman’s endeavour also results from his choice of processing data, a method which he himself describes as a display of his own body and personality, thus the sociological analysis turns out to be the adjustment of one’s body to that of the others, and to the interactive situation, finally transforming itself into an actual interaction between the observer and the observed. The Story of Storytelling in Personnel Selection Behavioral Interviews Dana BALAS-TIMAR1 Abstract The need for a standardized behavioral interview scoring strategy represents a critical organizational aspect when dealing with human capital optimization. Behavioral interview based on storytelling approach is a technique through which job candidates are asked to give specific examples of how they have performed in the past specific work related tasks that require certain skills in certain situations. Research assumes the existence of strong correlations between the selection interview score and subsequent job performance. This paper analyses the relationship between these two organizational assessments as well as the modeling using fuzzy logic of a CAR alternative system for scoring the behavioral selection interview based on storytelling approach, inside a multinational automotive company. Results demonstrate a significant correlation between the classic interview score and job performance (r=0.894 to p
