It started working as an independent University Department in 2008. The Department offers Post Graduate (M. Sc. in Chemistry) and PhD programs. The Department also caters to first year Engineering and Diploma-B.Tech., B.Sc., Integrated students, Biotechnology Department for chemistry courses.
