Sharing God's Word Luke 19:2840 This Sunday we celebrate "Palm Sunday." Our imaginations can quickly create the scene of Jesus riding a donkey into Jerusalem amid excitement and cheers. It's a quirky chain of events. Amid the cheers, there are tears; amid the exuberance, there is simplicity; and among those who rejoice, there are those who are mute. It's a day of surprises, disappointments, and mounting suspense. Can you imagine yourself there? What role and agenda would fit your current situation in life? Please come, join in the experience ... Joys & Concerns We ask God's blessing and comfort for those struggling with health issues and life's other difficulties: Cas Winans whose mother recently passed away as well as Cas dealing with a fractured leg. Congratulations to Gary & Jan Micheel on the birth of their second grandson, Henry Frances Micheel-Mays and Jennifer Smith who was named Blue Valley School District Teacher of the Year! Prayer for our Search Committee Members: Holy One, Send forth your Spirit upon each person of our Search Committee. Guide them with your wisdom. Open their hearts that they might recognize the person you are sending to pastor Saint Andrew into our future. We remember with deep gratitude, our faithful staff whose gifts also enhance each step of this journey. In Jesus' name, we pray...amen. A Note of Thanks: Thank you Saint Andrew family, for your expressions of care during my sister Mary Louise's illness and passing. Search Committee Update For the past several weeks, the search committee has been intensely reviewing the profiles of pastors who are available by being in search and call process. For each of these candidates, the search committee has had a lengthy profile to review. For many of these candidates, we have also been able to review their present church's web site which provides much good information. We have also read blogs or other writings available online. We have read or listened to online sermons. From this intense review, we are in the process of narrowing our candidate list. We will

Upcoming Events Muffins with the Minister - April 7 9:30 am in the Pastor's Office. If you are new to our community or wish to learn more about our denomination and our congregation, join Rev. Erika Marksbury and Denise Dugan on April 7. RSVP to let us know you are attending. Interfaith Event - April 13 Saint Andrew is proud to host an Institute of Interfaith Dialogue event. Dinner will be followed by a presentation by Mustafa Akyol, author of the book: "Islam Without Extremes." Second Annual Saint Andrew Cookie Bake-Off - April 14 Could your favorite cookie recipe become the 2013 Saint Andrew cookie? Find out at the second annual Saint Andrew Cookie Bake-Off Sunday, April 14. To enter, bring three plates of cookies (one for each service) to church. Please prepare at least a dozen cookies broken up into bite-sized pieces for each plate. Please make sure the recipe is one that can be easily made. Please let us know if you will be entering a cookie or can help with the contest by contacting Joanie Nicholas, Church Life Chairperson. Members of Saint Andrew will cast their votes and the winner will be declared the 2013 Saint Andrew cookie. Give it a try! All Church Camping Trip - April 19-21 Crow's Creek Campground in Smithville, MO Join us for one night or both, or come and hang out during the day on Saturday. Questions? We'll have projects for everyone in the family - craft and painting projects for parents and kids to do together. (If you can donate supplies, see list below.) 10:30 Service project putting together Babe Care Kits for Church World Service Supplies needed for VBS decorating party: colored craft paper rolls, 3" or 4" white styrofoam balls, aluminum foil, posterboard (orange, red, blue, purple, green), 1/2" white pvc (need total of 15'), plaster of Paris, styrofoam packing peanuts. Love & Logic Class, April 7-May 5, 5:00pm each Sunday night, Room 202/203 Vacation Bible School, June 17-21, 9am-noon Summer Camp at Tall Oaks Camp & Conference Center Tall Oaks is now accepting on line registration for summer camp. As in past years, Saint Andrew Christian Church will provide scholarship funds for all children and youth attending summer camp at Tall Oaks.
