High Altitude Permaculture and Pike’s Peak Permaculture present an

Advanced Permaculture Design Course A unique 5-day residential certification course offered by seasoned instructors. Although permaculture design courses are available across the North American continent, there are still relatively few practicing designers with strong skills on the ground. Appropriate for anyone wanting to deepen into permaculture design, this course will also encourage designers and design teams to establish professional practices. Opportunities for in-depth design of physical sites and invisible structures. After course completion, an optional mentorship program will be offered. Tuition includes all meals and camping; rooms will be available for an additional fee. Register early — course size is limited!

Peter Bane is a permaculture teacher and site designer who has published and edited the Permaculture Activist Magazine for over 20 years. He helped create Earthhaven Ecovillage in North Carolina and is now pioneering suburban farming in Bloomington, Indiana. A teacher for Indiana University, Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute and other academic and private institutions, Peter serves on the board of the Permaculture Institute of North America (PINA) and holds a Diploma of Permaculture Design. He recently published the Permaculture Handbook: Garden Farming for Town and Country. Sandy Cruz founded High Altitude Permaculture in 1992, promoting strategies for sustainable living in even the harshest conditions. She holds a Diploma of Permaculture Design from the International Permaculture Institute and received the Boulder County Land Conservation Award. Sandy teaches diverse courses and workshops, has trained 60 new permaculture teachers, and consults on site planning and design. She serves on the Board of the Upper Arkansas Conservation District, and is currently developing a permaculture research and demonstration site in Salida, Colorado. Becky Elder is a social and community activist who co-founded and co-directs Pikes Peak Permaculture and Transition Town Manitou. Inducted into the Green Hall of Fame, Becky also founded and directs Blue Planet Earthscapes, an award winning organic gardening company in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Her home gardens are Certified Wildlife Habitat, appearing in the Audubon Society’s Colorado Wildscapes. A free lance writer, Becky is also the author of Raven in the Garden, a Front Range Gardener’s Journal.
