support you need. Addiction Services are now part of Ontario Works in Chatham-Kent. If substance use is standing in the way of your finding, getting or keeping a job, we can help. We can make it easy for you to arrange treatment through Chatham-Kent Addiction Program (CKAP) and provide the support you need while you deal with your substance use.
Geing Started It isn’t easy to overcome a substance use problem. Other serious challenges like health and social difficulties, family problems, financial issues can get in the way. We can assist you and link you to community resources.
What you can expect from Ontario Works You will be referred to CKAP where they will complete an assessment and work with you to develop a treatment plan. You may be transferred to an Ontario Works Intensive Case Manager who will help support you during your recovery. They will help you develop a plan which may include treatment activities, employment activities such as workshops and training. You may be provided additional financial support to complete these activities. If you are not sure if substance use is a barrier for you, an Ontario Works Intensive Case Manager can help you identify how substance use is affecting your life, and whether you are ready to make changes.
