Only 15 in a team and mediator at the centre for 15minutes. Speak out fluently and loudly Give chance to others No need to rush up . Everyone will be provided slots by the person conducting the GD 5. At conclusion, give your clear cut idea. 6. The person conducting the interview will give a chance at the last two minutes to everyone. You have to conclude there.Be assertive not aggresive. Interview: Somebody will be having two interviews and some one. depending on the type of the person interviewing you. XXX: Good Morning Sir. Interviewer: A pleasant morning. Take your seat. XXX: Thank you Sir. Interviewer: can I see your resume ? XXX: With pleasure. Here are you Sir. Interviewer: And yourself Mr.XXX. XXX: Ya , of course. Interviewer: Introduce yourself. XXX: (Brief introduction enough) Atlast end in projects if you are strong in it. Interviewer: (Having a glance at your resume) Nice. You are maintaining a good and constant CGPA. XXX: Thank you Sir. My performance in the company will too be like the same. Interviewer: Good. Can you explain me your project Agrosoft. XXX: Ya, of course. It is an interesting project done by our team. (How we started, data collection, algorithm, methodology, outcome) Interviewer: Good. And have tested with real samples. XXX: Yes Sir . The result was 7/10.

Interviewer: Had you find the reasons for failure ? XXX: Sure. The missing datas in the colection. And now using some mining algorithms to overcome. Interviewer: Good. But you have used Oracle and VB. A heavy database and light front end. Does this seem to be good ? XXX: Not exactly , but we adapted the technique for Rapid application development. But would have used JAVA as front end for efficiency. And also conversion of english to tamil will be feasible. Interviewer: For that no need to go for JAVA. You can opt for NSL. (some details) XXX: Thank you Sir. We will try to learn nd upgrade our software. Interviewer: Thats good. Interviwer: Can you explain about parallelisation of encryption ? XXX: (Explained and mentioned ICC). Interviewer: What is ICC ? XXX: Intel Compiler Collections. We have intel multicore laboratory at our college and there we have free softwares sponsered by Intel. Interviewer: Nice. Don't you have labs sponsered by other companies ? XXX: We are having IBM centre of excellence. There we have been exposed to WSAD,DB2 etc. Interviewer: Is DB2 a better one ? how it is different from Oracle ? XXX: Character and grouping support offered by DB2 is more compared to oracle. But number of recusive sub-querries that can be processed is less. DB2's architecture itself has security consideration. Platformwise both have almost similiar requirements. Interviewer: But people say Oracle is efficient. XXX: That's because of DB2's front level security. But the betterness is based on the application. Interviewer: You said you know WSAD. But have not done any project in it. Why ?

XXX: It was complex then Sir. But now for rapid development of pages we opt for WSAD. It was complex to learn but simple to use after learning. In future we will try to do that Sir. Interviewer: Good.... (Some basic DBMS questions, cryptography) ....You know Hindi right ? XXX: Ya Sir , I know the scripts of malayalam and kannada too. But not to speak.I have passion for kearning new scripts. Interviewer: Good keep it up. Do you have any questions ? XXX: In yesterday's presentation we heard that IBM was not affected by recession. Product based nature of service is the reason or 98 years of experience ? Interviewer: (3 minutes ) XXX: In what way i should improve myself to become a successful IBMer. Interviewer: You should have passion (jus) . You should not compare yourself wih others. What is you long term goal. XXX: To be in the R&D of IBM. Interviewer: For that it will take years. Till then ??? XXX: Nobody can become a HOD just after completing B.E. So I will improve myself in years and surely join R&D. Interviewer: Nice. Had you attended any other company ? I know HP visited your campus the first. XXX: First I wish to tell you IBM is my dream company. I attended other companies for experience and cleared ATs in a few. Interviewer: Are you already placed ? XXX: Yes Sir in TCS. I have a great respect for the same. But IBM is my dream company. Interviewer: Why IBM ?. XXX: I have passion for IBM since my 12 th standard when I learned NASA's choice for IBM in next generation super computers. IBM is versatile. IBM gives importance to dedication, innovation and trust. IBM is dynamic. And I wish to be a part in the centenary

celebrations of IBM. ......And I'm impressed by the systematic way of interview process. Thank you Sir. Interviewer: Nice. I'll consult the HR and decide. Results: After announcement and you have to fill the employee form. Don't forget to take a Photostat of degree mark sheet, ID proof, passport size photo with you. If you have previous working experience, take a copy of relieving letter. You can't see a systematic interview like IBM's. So be punctual and prompt. Good Luck.
