ART & SOUL: A YS ART FAIR...due to the art fair’s success, we are expanding the number of booths to feature up to 35 regional artists of all mediums. Art & Soul will be hosted by the Yellow Springs School System and will take place in Mills Lawn Elementary School, which is ideally situated just half a block from the down town business district, shops, and restaurant. The property has ample parking and is very well lit. Although this event is being held in a school gymnasium, this is not a holiday bazaar. Because this weekend is the kick-off of Holiday in the Village, there will be horse and buggy rides and other events that will draw visitors to the village that day. WE OFFER: • an extensive marketing campaign • outdoor event signage • program with artists names and contact info, • a continental breakfast • free artist/guest parking near the event map, and sponsor thank yous • an opportunity to order a boxed lunch • bookmarks and postcards to distribute • two outside entrances for set up/tear down delivered to your booth JURY: A blind jury of four arts professionals will select a good mix of artists and arts medias. Scores will be based on creativity, originality, technique, design, and the overall impact of the work. ADVERTISING: The budget for the art fair allows for more than ample advertising of the event and we are partnering with the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce who will also be advertising the art fair and the kick off of “Holiday in the Village” that weekend. We’ll have extensive advertising with our media sponsors WCBE radio in Columbus and WYSO radio in the Miami Valley, along with print ads in various publications. Also, there will be lots of social media mentions through the YS Chamber of Commerce Facebook page (with over 30,000 likes to date) as well as on our Facebook page where each artist will be featured and we will link back to the artist’s Facebook business page if they have one. There will also be an “Art & Soul Event Page” on Facebook that can be used to send invitations to the show. Because we’ve found social media to show results, we’re investing more time and money in advertising this way. FEES: Jury Fee - $10 Booth Fees for 2014: 10' x 10' for $90; 15' x 5' for $85, 10' x 8' for $85, 8' x 6' for $75 There are 26 10' x 10' booths, one 10' x 8' booth, and three 15' x 5' booths. In addition, there are four booth spaces being set aside for emerging artists. These booths are 8' x 6' and include an 8-foot long table, which the artist must drape. None of the booths have additional space for storage. RULES FOR PARTICIPATION: • All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist(s). • All work must have prices prominently marked. • All artists listed on the application must be present during the entire art fair; you may not send someone in your place to sell your work. • There will be no shared booths. If a pair of artist collaborates on one body of work, both of their names should be on the application. But only one body of work will be shown in each booth. • Only work consistent with the work that was juried into the show will be exhibited. Nothing of lesser quality or completely different from what was shown in the submitted images. Only work in the media that was juried may be sold. • No castings from commercial molds. • Mass produced and factory produced items are unacceptable. • Artists much provide everything that they need to professionally display their work and any tools need to set up said display. • Artists need to provide their own dividing walls or curtains for up to three sides of their display. • Artists will be responsible for paying Greene County sales tax at 6.75%. INADMISSIBLE WORK: • Buy-sell imported art, or mass produced items • No floral arrangements, dried flowers, soaps, velvet paintings, or kit-work. • Work based on embellishing commercially produced items such as painting, stitchery, or appliqués of commercially produced garments. PRICE RANGE: We advise that you bring a broad spectrum of work encompassing all price ranges. BOOTH LOCATIONS: Booth locations and load in/load out information will be sent in early November. If you request bookmarks (to pass out) and/or postcards (to send to your mailing list) they will also be mailed you.

HOW TO APPLY: Fill out the application form and submit 4 digital images of your work. In addition, one image of your booth is required. If you do not have an image of your booth display, a sketch is required. Displays are expected to be professional. Images: Image should be 300 dpi at approximately 4 x 6 inches, if at all possible. The images should be unaltered and of work only. Images may be submitted via email to [email protected] with the subject line “art fair application.” CDs of images can be mailed to the address below. CDs of images will not be returned. Applications & Checks: Mail your application form with your SEPARATE checks: jury fee, booth fee, and lunch (optional). REF UND POLICY: Submission of the application is a commitment to participate in the art fair. There will be no refunds made and no-shows will not be invited to participate in future events.
