‘BEST BEATLES TRIBUTE ON EARTH’ TO PLAY AT MCCC’S LA-Z-BOY CENTER Kicks Off ‘Encore’ Season of Events at MCCC MONROE, Mich. – Dubbed the “best Beatles tribute on earth” by Rolling Stone magazine, 1964 will once again dazzle a whole new generation of fans on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Monroe County Community College while staying true to the memories many have held dear for nearly 50 years. The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater on MCCC’s Main Campus in Monroe at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. This Beatles tribute band has perfected the illusion of The Fab Four in concert. Like actors, these master musicians cast a spell as they step into the characters of the originals before your very eyes. 1964 last played at MCCC in 2004, during the inaugural season for the La-Z-Boy Center, and its upcoming performance kicks off the 2013-14 “Encore” events season in honor of the facility’s 10th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the college.

For more than 28 years, this group of performers has successfully recreated every sensation of being at a Beatles concert circa 1964-1966 – from wardrobe to hairstyles and Liverpool accents to singing nuance and vintage instruments.
