Bethel (The House Of God)

GOD'S PROPHET, WILLIAM BRANHAM (1909-1965)

I Timothy 4:1-2 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." In May 2012 a man went on a USA TV station (WHAS11 News), and did an article against William Branham and Christians believers who are identified with his teachings, under the title: "I-Team Investigation: Former member of controversial Branham Tabernacle speaks out." An anonymous, fictitious name was given; "Mike." The anonymous writer was later identified as John Collins; a backslider and grandson of Willard Collins who is the present pastor of the Jeffersonville, Indiana Tabernacle. We wish, in love, to speak to this young man, advising him that he should withdraw such blasphemies, and he should not mix up his depression with the truth, and blame it upon the servant of God and the message. John, you are not sure where you are standing, or you would not be ashamed to be identified with your negative article. "...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." (Romans 14:23). This article will stand against you, if you stand before the White Throne Judgment. (Revelation 20:11-15). Save yourself that great punishment. Repent for this sin before it leads you to Hebrews 6:4-6 and Hebrews 10:26. Humble yourself to Pastor Collins, ask God to grant you grace to live up to the commandments of the Lord expressed and established by Brother Branham. Your love for the evil things of this world caused you to come against the prophet, since he established a high standard of holiness, which came in conflict with your worldly desires. It would be to your credit if you had walked away and say that you cannot live by such Bible principles. John 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." It is condemnation. Beware, friend. This answers your questions about being depressed. Your mind is caught between the things of the world and the commandments of the Lord. Now, these misrepresentations of the message and God's true servant, William Branham, went worldwide. How many souls you have stumbled out of the way, eternity will unfold. Repent, friend. Your conscience knows better than what you have published. The criticisms of your the article are these: Exposed by Brother Joseph Branham: A) They held his body from the grave from December, when he died, all the way into Easter, hoping

2 he would rise back from the dead..." B) William Branham raised himself into this platform that is almost, if not, equal to Jesus Christ. C) His message is hardly known of because "It's almost behind closed doors. You invite somebody over to your house. You say ‘Did you know there was a prophet?’ You hand them this prophet's material." D) William Branham predicted that the world will end by 1977. E) Branham predicted he would be alive to see the return of Jesus Christ. F) It's basically toys of Brother Branham's possessions that they're trying to sell and make money whenever there's ministers out in the field who don't even have shoes on their feet. G) One message follower stated; "Over there is an empty grave, like in Jerusalem, for us. Exposed by Bethel "The House of God": H) William Branham taught that: Every sin that ever was on the earth was caused by a woman. I) Branham compares women who wear makeup to Jezebel. "If you see a woman wearing that, you can say ‘How do you do, Miss Dog Meat?’ That's exactly what God called her. He fed her to the dogs." J) "Denominationalism is absolutely, I prove it by the Bible, is the mark of the beast." "All through high school, I never made friends because all the people had the mark of the beast." What do you hope to achieve by the above criticisms, we do not know. Should it be to cause millions and even billions around the world to envisage true scriptural teachings as error, and sincere Christians as cult followers, we wish to scripturally state that you are treading on dangerous grounds, for it is written in scripture: Isaiah 5:20

BETHEL THE HOUSE OF GOD STAND IN DEFENCE OF WILLIAM BRANHAM & HIS MESSAGE

Whatever your purpose is, we: ministers and congregation, of Bethel "The House of God", Calcutta Road No. 2, P.O. Box 238, Freeport, Trinidad (Pastored by Brother Dalton Bruce), with great boldness, stand in defence of God's servant and prophet and his God-given message, and with one voice, write in opposition and utter defiance to such criticisms. So too our many affiliate churches, of thousands of Christian message believers, from different parts of the world, namely: Trinidad, USA, Canada, South America, the Caribbean, Africa, India, Australia, the Philippines and other places, and Exposition Of Damnable Heresies (E.O.D.H.), the publishing arm of Bethel. We respect the many believers around the world, and respect and stand firmly with Malachi 4: 5-6; William Branham; Elijah, and his message. For such truths we have contended, and do now contend, ever since they crossed our shores over forty five years ago. Such unbending stand can be seen on our websites: www.bethelthehouseofgod.net and www.geocities.com/bethel_thehouseofgod. We embrace this opportunity, as one allowed of the Lord, to testify to the world of the things which we, as message believers, most assuredly believe, which are fully supported by the scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, based upon the sure foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself the Chief Corner Stone, and further preached by William Branham. Upon such teachings we are based, for which we challenge the world, all opposers, cults, organisations and money-loving preachers who stand in opposition to such scriptural teachings, and teach contrary to the Word of God, the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the fulfilment of Bible prophecy by opening of the seals by Christ, the Lamb (Revelation 5th & 6th Chapters).

FULL SUPPORT FOR ALL WHO STOOD IN DEFENCE

3

We stand firmly with all who came to the defence of William Branham and his message. We greatly admire the sons of the prophet (Joseph and Billy Paul Branham), and all who did likewise. We fully support them in this endeavour.

DENOUNCEMENT OF LIES Our Brother Joseph Branham stated in his response: "The following is the letter we sent to the news organization. It addresses some, but not all, of the errors in the article. We would not readdress the items of error which were dealt with by Brother Joseph, as we are fully satisfied with the answers given by him and Billy Branham. A - Supportive Answer: We wish only to add, in confirmation and support of his answers, that the message of William Branham does not teach, has never taught and stands firmly against any cult teaching which says that he will resurrect in a private resurrection to continue his work. William Branham himself stated that when he departs, he will be leaving for good: Quote William Branham: 567-3 {325} It may be time. It may be the hour now, that this great person that we're expecting to rise on the scene may rise on the scene. Maybe this ministry that I have tried to take people back to the Word has laid a foundation; and if it has, I'll be leaving you for good. There won't be two of us here the same time. See? If it is, he will increase, I'll decrease. (The Seventh Seal 63-0324E). If some speak contrary to the above declaration, William Branham cannot be held responsible. The same as neither Jesus nor the apostles can be held accountable for any perversions of the Gospel that they preached. Such person will be accountable to God. (Galatians 1:8-9). B - Supportive Answer: John, you know yourself that it is an outright lie to say that William Branham exalted himself almost to the position of Jesus Christ. Are you not embarrassed, sir, to make such a statement about God's humble servant, even like Moses? Even those who oppose the message of William Branham, in great religious circles, testify of his gift and the simplicity and humility of that great, anointed servant:

GREAT & NOTABLE EVANGELISTS EXALT THE MINISTRY OF WILLIAM BRANHAM Quote Wikipedia The Free Encyclopedia: "Branham's legacy and influence: In its February 1961 issue, the Full Gospel Men's Voice (now the Full Gospel Businessmen's Voice) wrote: "In Bible Days, there were men of God who were Prophets and Seers. But in all the Sacred Records, none of these had a greater ministry than that of William Branham... Branham has been used by God, in the Name of Jesus, to raise the dead!"[92] Branham's teachings and notoriety had a profound influence on the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements. ...R. McConnell, although a critic of William Branham's teaching, expressed this opinion about his ministry: "Branham, one of the original and greatest evangelists of the post-World War II Healing Revival. Branham worked astounding miracles of healing in his crusades. To this day his gifts of supernatural knowledge of those to whom he ministered remains unparalleled, even among modern healing evangelists". Andrew Strom, another theologian who disagreed with Branham doctrinally, nevertheless concluded: "William Branham was another evangelist mid-way through last century who was mightily used of God for a number of years. In fact, there can be little doubt that he was endued with power to a degree that has rarely been seen since the days of the apostles."

4 C. Douglas Weaver, an author who has written an academic biography of William Branham, concluded: "His healing gift and the power of his services are still held in awe by participants in the tradition of divine healing in America." Tommy L. Osborne: "There we saw Jesus in a vision. Led us to that wonderful man of God. Brother William Branham came to Town. Lot of people misunderstand him, but forget that. He was used of God and I respect that." (Youtube interview with Paul & Jan Crouch - TBN). Quote www.letusreason.org: "Paul Cain said of William Branham: "The greatest prophet that ever lived in any of my generations or any of the generations of revival I've lived through." (Paul Cain, Selections from the Kansas City Prophets). Rodney- Howard- Browne has said of William Branham: "A true prophet of God. Kenneth Hagin identifies Branham as a prophet as do many others as Oral Roberts, Robert Liardon. Benny Hinn approves of Branham as well.( Benny Hinn, Praise the Lord, (TBN), April 12, 1991)." Quote Tommy L. Osborne: "Some are going to think I am sacrilegious or off doctrinally (and it doesn't really matter), but God came again in human flesh and said, "Apparently I must show them again... And He stepped down and sent a little man, a prophet, but more than a prophet this time, A Jesus-man this time! God was in Brother Branham, demonstrating Himself. God is in us. The difference is that He has not foreordained that we operate in the place of the prophet of this generation. We are not accompanied by these extraordinary signs to give evidence of this to preachers." (William Branham's memorial service). You know very well that it was God who exalted his servant, even as he exalted the prophets and apostles, confirming the Word with signs and wonders. Nicodemus said to Jesus; "...we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." (John 3:2). Shame on you, friend, repent! Tell the world the rest of the story. You made such a vague statement, which is a lie. You are treading on dangerous grounds. If you have any conscience left in you, remove this heretical article and tell the truth about your backslidden heart. C - Supportive Answer: You foolishly stated, to your disgrace, that his message is almost behind closed doors. You speak against your own conscience. Anyone can browse the Internet to see the many websites, ministers and churches that openly propagate his teachings. Millions of books and tapes went around the world to the public. You confirmed the same. You are much confused, sir. You are a depressed soul who is caught between the Word and the world. Such lying expressions would not bring peace. D - Supportive Answer: Concerning William Branham's prediction that the world would end by 1977; I am sure that any Christian who is even halfway spiritual would know that a prediction and a prophecy are two different things entirely. A prophecy is "Thus saith the Lord", which must come to pass, and a prediction is the private opinion of an individual, which could fail. William Branham stated concerning his 1977 prediction that he could miss it by a hundred years: 1977 - I PREDICT - I COULD MISS IT BY 100 YEARS Quote William Branham: 43 We believe that the Laodicean church started in A.D. 1906. I predict... Now, remember, "predict," especially you listening at the tape. I don't say it will be, but predict that it will end by 1977, that the church will go completely into apostasy, and she'll be ousted out of the mouth of God. And the second coming, or the rapture of Christ, might come any time. Now, I could miss that a year; I can miss it twenty years, I could miss it a hundred years. I don't know where. But I just predict that according to a vision He showed me, and taking the time, the way it's progressing, I say it'll be sometime between '33 and '77. At least, this great nation is going to strike a war that's going to blow it to bits. See? Now, that's pretty close; it's

5 awful close. And I could be wrong; I'm prpedicting. Everybody understand say, "amen" if you do. [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] See? (The Laodicean Church Age 60-1211E). Are you not ashamed to lie on God's servant, Brother Branham, after knowing the above statements. You formulated a palatable lie by quoting only a part of his statement. E Answer of Brother Joseph Branham: " The Bible predicts that the dead in Christ shall rise and meet the Lord in the air (I Thes 4:13-18). All Christians believe they will be alive at the Coming of the Lord, no matter if they die first or not." F Answer of Brother Joseph Branham: " We do sell a few things, but almost always, the items are sold at or below what we pay for them, and almost all of the material shipped overseas is given away. In fact, over 95% of the material produced by VGR is given away completely free-of-charge. . G Answer of Brother Joseph Branham: "A professional journalist would have at least found someone who actually believes this, rather than cutting and splicing David Forsberg’s testimony. We invite your administration to review the entire clip of his interview at the gravesite. It will be much different than what you reported." H - Answer: I am sure that every Christian knows that a woman by the name of Eve, caused the fall, and as a result, sin came into the world: " I Timothy 2:12-14
