Syed Yawar Ali was educated at Aitchison College Lahore and got his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and Masters in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology. He joined the family business, Packages Limited and then became Managing Director of Milk Pak Ltd. After 3 years of the Joint Venture with Nestlé he was elevated to Chairman of the Board. Syed Yawar Ali is currently Chairman of Nestlé Pakistan Limited, Chairman, Wazir Ali Industries Limited and Past Chairman of Pakistan Dairy Association. He is serving on many other boards and has also been on the Board of Directors of State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines, Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan and Lahore Electric Supply Company. Currently he is Vice-President of the India-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is heading a committee to ‘Promote Trade with India.’

Magdi BATATO Managing Director 308-Upper Mall, Lahore, Pakistan

Mr. Magdi BATATO has an extensive career with Nestlé. He Joined the Nestlé Group in 1991 in Switzerland and pursued a highly successful factory and technical management career. His factory and production management experience took him to Germany, Lebanon and South Africa. In 2004, he was transferred to Malaysia as Executive Director of Production before moving to Nestlé UK in 2009 as Head of Group Technical Nestlé UK & Ireland. During his tenure he has made a significant contribution to the transformation of the Manufacturing function in UK and Ireland, and has worked closely with all parts of the organisation to role model the “Nestlé Continues Excellence” mindset. He has ensured that all functions within Technical have played their part in contributing to the excellent market results during his three years tenure in Nestlé UK. In June 2012, Mr. Magdi BATATO has taken over as Chief Executive and Managing Director of Nestlé Pakistan. Under his leadership and a true entrepreneurial mindset, attention to details and discipline in execution will further strengthen the long term growth and sustainability of Nestlé Pakistan

Mr. John. M. Davis Director 308-Upper Mall, Lahore, Pakistan

Mr. John Davis has an extensive career with Nestlé. He Joined the Nestlé Group in 1991 in New Zealand where he had various Accounting and Finance roles. His Accounting and Finance roles took him to Indonesia in 1996 as Corporate Controller. In 2001 he took the role of Controller Foods and Beverages in Nestlé Australia, and returned to New Zealand as Country Controller in 2004 and later in 2011 in Saudi Arabia in a similar role. During his tenure, he successfully built and led the Finance team including key initiatives in supporting the Business growth, Working Capital management, NBS processes, ensuring a strong Internal Controls culture and most recently launching NCE in Finance. From June 1st, 2013, Mr. John Davis has taken over the position of Head of Finance and Control of Pakistan Market. With his extensive experience in different Markets and roles within Nestle he is well suited to his new role.

Naveed Ahmad Khan Director 308-Upper Mall, Lahore, Pakistan

Naveed Ahmad Khan graduated from University of Engineering & Technology Lahore as Chemical Engineer. He then joined Nestlé at the year end 1988 as Trainee Engineer. He spent two years at Nestlé Tongala plant in Australia as Manufacturing Team leader where he specifically took part in the development of modern milk powder producing technologies. During his six years as Factory Manager in Kabirwala he was able to develop a team capable of delivering high performing best in class results. He spent three years in Dubai as Manufacturing Services Manager for Middle East, Egypt, Turkey, Central Asia and horn of Africa where he developed Application group and Packaging development structure in three markets and led projects for localization of production of various products. He was part of concept development project and in the preparation for start-up of Nestlé Dubai Manufacturing factory which he managed for three years. The uniqueness about this factory is the working of 23 different nationalities at one site. He then managed Sheikhpura factory for couple of years with main focus on development of a strong team on site, improvement in Industrial relations and implementation of Nestlé Continuous Excellence. On 01st of June 2012 he became Head of Technical for Nestlé Pakistan Limited.

Pierre Schaufelberger Director Avenue Nestlé 55, 1800 Vevey, Switzerland

Mr. Pierre Schaufelberger is recognized as a professional senior executive in the Nestlé world. He was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1954. He graduated in 1978, with specialization in International Relations, from Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. He started his professional career with Nestlé S.A. (Switzerland) in 1980 as International Management Trainee for Zone Asia/Oceania. He worked on various assignments of Sales and Marketing and in various senior roles in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Dubai and Vietnam. In 2009 he moved to Nestlé S.A. Switzerland, as Vice PresidentRegional Management Zone Asia Oceania Africa and Middle East. He is also working as Director of Nestlé Pakistan Limited.

Syed Babar Ali Director Packages Limited, Shahrah-e-Roomi, Lahore, Pakistan

As an entrepreneur and industrialist, Syed Babar Ali envisioned and set up Packages Limited (Pakistan’s largest paper & board mill), Milkpak Limited–now Nestlé Pakistan Limited (the largest food processing company in Pakistan); Tetra Pak Pakistan Limited, IGI Insurance Company Limited, Tri-Pack Films Limited, and IGI Investment Bank. He is Chairman of SanofiAventis Pakistan Limited, Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company Limited, and Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited. He believes in the joint venture philosophy and most of his businesses are joint ventures with major multinationals. As an educationist, he led the establishment of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 1985 of which he is the first Pro-Chancellor. LUMS is Pakistan’s premier management education institution. In 1992, he founded Ali Institute of Education for training of primary and secondary school teachers. He is a member of the Board of the following important educational institutions of Lahore: Aitchison College, Kinnaird College, and Lahore School of Economics. He is also a Founding Member of the South Asia Initiative of Harvard University and the Co-Chair of South Asia Centre for Policy Studies currently based in Nepal. He served as Pakistan’s Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs & Planning in 1993. He promoted the cause of the World Wide Fund for Nature (earlier World Wildlife Fund) where he served in various capacities, both in Pakistan and internationally, from 1972 to 1996. He was International President of WWF from 1996 to 1999 succeeding HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. He is now Vice President Emeritus, WWF International, and President Emeritus WWF-Pakistan. He set up Babar Ali Foundation in 1985. The Foundation gives about a million dollars a year primarily for education and health in Pakistan. He is also a member of Layton Rehmatullah Benevolent Trust Karachi and Shalamar Hospital Lahore. He received honours and awards from the Government of Sweden, the Netherlands, an OBE from Britain (1997), and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Laws from McGill University, Montreal, Canada (1997).

Syed Hyder Ali, graduated from University of Michigan, USA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1979. He completed his Master of Science in June 1981, specializing in paper chemistry. In 1997, Mr. Ali also attended the program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. Chief Executive and Managing Director, Packages Ltd. Mr. Ali has wide and varied professional working experience spanning over many years in paper production, conversion and packaging. Mr. Ali has been involved in the development and implementation of processes for the pulp and paper mill at Packages Ltd. using wheat straw as a raw material. He is the co-author of two USA patents for the recycling of milk and juice cartons. Mr. Ali serves on the Board of a number of companies like Bulleh Shah Paper Mill (Private) Limited, IGI Insurance Limited, Nestlé Pakistan Limited, Packages Lanka (Pvt) Limited, Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited, Tetra Pak Pakistan Limited, Tri-Pack Films Limited and International Steel Limited. He is a member of the Board of Governors/Directors of WWF- Pakistan, Babar Ali Foundation (BAF), National Management Foundation (NMF), Ali Institute of Education (AIE), Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), and Pakistan Business Council (PBC). He is also a Member of the Executive / Management Committee of Syed Maratib Ali Religious and Charitable Trust Society, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Pakistan. Mr. Ali is married with three children. He is the Honorary Consul General of Sweden in Lahore since 1998.

Mr. M. Hanif Rajput is a Chartered Accountant and a seasoned professional. He started his career with Packages Limited as Chief Internal Auditor in 1979 and later on moved to Milkpak Limited (present Nestlé Pakistan Limited) in 1980 as Finance & Control Manager & Company Secretary from where he retired in 2000. Afterwards he joined National Management Foundation where he is still working as General Manager.

Osman Khalid Waheed Ferozsons Laboratories Limited, 5 km, Sunder Raiwind Road, Raiwind, Lahore, Pakistan. Osman Khalid Waheed joined Ferozsons Laboratories Limited, a publicly listed pharmaceutical company in 1993 after obtaining his undergraduate degree from Harvard. He has worked in logistics, sales and marketing before becoming company president in 1999. During his tenure, the company improved its sales ans profitably consistently, and has been awarded the Karachi Stock Exchange’s Top 25 Companies Award six years consecutively. The company has also expanded its portfolio of medical solutions for critical diseases by forging

alliances with international partners including the Boston Scientific Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of medical devices. In 2006, in a joint venture with the Bago Group of Argentina, Ferozsons Laboratories Limited established BF Biosciences Limited, Paksitan’s first biotech pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Since coming into production in 2009, BF Biosciences Limited has become the leading supplier of Hepatitis C treatment in the country, and has helped reduce treatment costs by over 60% for patients. Mr. Waheed has previously served on the board of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), and as president of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Murree Brewery Company Limited and DGS (Pvt) Limited.

Faïçal Krichane 2, Chemin de Paudille CH 1803 – Chardonne - Switzerland

Mr. Faïçal Krichane had an extensive career spanning more than 33 years within the Technical community of the Nestlé Group. Faïçal, a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, joined Nestlé in 1978 in Switzerland. He tasted his first experiences of expatriate life in Sri Lanka from 1982 to 1985 where, serving as Project Engineer, Project Leader and then Factory Engineer, he managed a number of important projects at the Kurunegala Factory. He continued in his project and technology management skills when he returned to the Centre as Technical Adviser, leading important projects and providing Technical Assistance to the Markets on behalf of the Milks and Nutrition Strategic Business Unit. In September 1995 he transferred to Malaysia as Head of Engineering and then in 1999 he was appointed Factory Manager Petaling Jaya. After a short period at the factory he was appointed Executive Director of Production for the Malaysia/Singapore Region where under his stewardship he lead with distinction the successful implementation of the ASEAN Industrial Structure projects and several factory expansions. In 2004 he was promoted as Senior Managing Director to head the Technical Management functions in Nestlé Japan where again he successfully addressed critical operational issues of the time. In 2006 he took over as Vice President to head the Technical Management of Zone Asia Oceania and Africa where he served the Zone with great dedication, professionalism and efficiency. Mr. Faïçal Krichane retired at the end of July 2011.
