Because NRMA Paint Group costings only consider PPG paint colours, the colour listings carried by their assessors do not consider the costs of all other paint brands such as Glasurit, Spies Hecker, Dupont, Standox, Sikkens, Debeer, etc. This is extremely disappointing. If you have any concerns about colours that have expensive Pearl and Xirallic tinters, please contact your supplier to verify the cost and paint grouping, and fax your information to Auto-Quote on 02 9579 4023 and we will assist you with a Field Submission. There are many other areas of NTAR that require correction. We list some below 1.

Paint Setup and Colour Match - the current allowance of .33 (20 minutes) is clearly insufficient. This means the average spray painter will match 3 colours every hour and 24 colours in a day. IAG are allowing less than 90 seconds to clean a spray gun and under 6 minutes to mix the colour. We all know that 24 colours in a day with no allowance for materials is impossible and recommend the time be corrected.

2.

Body Repair Materials (Consumables) are determined based on your repair hours. IAG are paying absolutely no materials for Welded Operations, Quarters, Beavers, Radiator Supports, Sills and Pillars, etc. We have submitted field reports requesting a “Weld Kit” be paid for all welded operations. IAG’s answer “it all averages out” we totally disagree.

3.

Our Research tells us it would be much easier for all concerned if Refinish Times were based on Small, Medium and Large, as there is a huge conflict of differences with the current IAG system.

4.

Booth Setup Time - IAG’s response “The Spray Booth is just like a computer, phone and hoist, etc. and is covered in your shop rate”. We totally disagree - The Booth Never Stops! It is manned and maintained by the painters for 8 hours daily. This involves Labour Operations not associated with the paint time that we are not being paid for.

5.

Paint Loadings - should be applied to every repair time! Ask the question - what magic miracle happens in the 36 seconds between .99 and 1 hour to make the Paint Loading jump from 10% to 25%?

2.

Transition to Auto-Quote Windows

With the new financial year already underway - don’t put off moving to Auto-Quote Windows any longer. Please give us a call for some advice on the best way forward for you. We are confident that you will gain immediate benefits from using the new Auto-Quote. Please note: As of 30th November 2009 NRMA will be upgrading their ORM interface which will only be compatible with Auto-Quote Windows.

WagezWindows

Auto-Quote is now actively installing the WagezWindows payroll package across our client base. If you are interested in migrating to a Windows Payroll package, please email us at aqadmin@auto-quote for more information. Virus’

There are some particularly nasty Viruses/Spyware/Malware doing the rounds. Everyone needs to be EXTRA careful with regards to Emails and Internet browsing. Any emails that are even slightly suspicious DELETE! To safeguard against these Virus please check that all your PC’s have current up to date Anti-Virus software.

If you or any of your staff would like an Auto-Quote Manual emailed to you, please email us at [email protected] requesting what manual you would like. Many of you are new to the NTAR program, or you might like to refresh yourself on any of the insurance modules, eg, ORM, QMS or AAMI. Send us an email and we'll gladly email the appropriate manual for your perusal.

Digital Cameras

If you’re in the market for a new camera these are some of the features to look for • •

It must come up as a removable drive when plugged into hard drive The resolution must be able to be set to email, vga or 640X480

Your feedback tells us that Sony Cyber shot cameras work well and retail from $200 - $300 depending on the model.

8.

Estimate Indicators

AQ Estimate indicators enable you to choose where individual notes are printed. These areas include the Estimate, Worksheet, Debtor Invoice, Excess Invoice and Production reports. You can also choose to display a comment on screen only. The indicators can be used in the Estimate Categories or in the Estimate Notes which are accessed through the OVD Links menu. If you are using them in the Estimate Categories you must ensure all Hrs and Amts columns on that line are left at 0.00 To activate the notes or comments use a full stop followed by the relevant indicator, followed by a space, followed by the note or comment. .E

Auto-Quote Upgrades

The last few months have seen us successfully upgrade the majority of our sites to the latest version of Auto-Quote including NTAR, AAMI and Payroll. If you think that your site has somehow missed the upgrade emails from us please see the information below on how to check you current versions and let us know if you need us to resend the email to upgrade. •

Auto-Quote Go into Auto-Quote Windows and click on the Estimating Icon, on the top left of the screen the version will display 1.24.22 Check this setup for each computer running Auto-Quote Windows.

AAMI Go into Auto-Quote Windows and click on the Estimating Icon and the last estimate will be on screen. Click on File Trans and AAMI and the version on the top left should read Auto-Quote AAMI PNET Interface v3.01.0 From the Daily Message Log, click on Check Mail and the version on the top left should read Auto-Quote AAMI Partner v3.1.2 Check this setup for each computer running Auto-Quote Windows.

Auto-Quote Upgrades (Cont’) As a result of the AAMI upgrade repairers must now fill in the following additional fields, as listed below and shown in the screen print, when sending a quote. COLOUR, PAINT TYPE, YEAR, MONTH

NTAR Times Go into Auto-Quote Windows and click on the Estimating Icon. Click on the N located under AQ Veh at the end of the first address line and the IAG NTAR vehicle list will be displayed. The top line should read –IAG Released Date 31/07/09. Check this setup for each computer running Auto-Quote Windows and NTAR.

Auto-Quote Payroll For those still using the Auto-Quote Payroll in either Windows or DOS you would have been emailed the tax tables update for the new financial year 2009/2010. To ensure you are running the latest programs, check the following: For DOS users, Double click onto the Auto-Quote Icon, and enter through to any Three Page Menu (3PM). Press P to get to the Payroll 3PM. For Windows users, Double click onto the Payroll Icon, and enter through to the Payroll Three Page Menu (3PM). 1.

Press F1 Employees and F2 Review/Revise Employees. Check the version on the top left of the screen - it should read 8.11.

Search for an employee and press F1 More, check the version on the top left of the screen - it should read 8.11. Press F10 Exit (3 times) and F9 Quit back to the Payroll 3PM. Press F2 Make Pays and on the PAY EMPLOYEES Period 1 screen, check the version on the top left of the screen - it should read 8.09. Press F10 Exit to return to Payroll 3PM.

Check this on all computers using Payroll. Should your versions be different please contact us immediately.

MoneyWorks Updates Software Updates Version 5 Clients Only Note: DataCentre clients must disregard the instructions below and contact Auto-Quote Technical support for assistance with DataCentre Software Updates. To determine what version of MoneyWorks you are currently running, click on Help then About MoneyWorks. Your current version number will be displayed, eg. version 5.2.7 If you are using MoneyWorks version 5, you should check for MoneyWorks Software Updates on a regular basis. You must check the MoneyWorks Server first. This is the computer that you turn on first each morning and turn off last each night. In MoneyWorks click on Help then Software Updates then Check Now If there is a Software Update available you must exit all other users out of the Auto-Quote Windows and MoneyWorks programs before continuing. When you are in single user mode click on Install When this process has been completed on the MoneyWorks Server you must then update all the other MoneyWorks Work Stations immediately.

MoneyWorks Gold Upgrade to Version 5 If you are interested in updating your current MoneyWorks Gold Version 4 to the latest please email your interest to [email protected] and you will be contacted by one of our sales team. To determine what version of MW you are currently running, open MoneyWorks, click on Help, About MoneyWorks and you will see the version number.
