AS030 William I, Penny, Sword type (1077-80), Aegelmier of Cambridge Mint, facing crowned bust with upright sword, linear circle around, +pillelm rex ii rev cross pattee over small quadrilateral with fleury on each apex, linear circle surrounding, +ieglmier on griit 1.34g (BMC type VI; N.846; S.1255). A flip-over double strike with elements of the reverse showing through on the obverse, the obverse legend therefore a little blundered, some light marks, toned, a pleasing very fine and the only known specimen for the moneyer of this type. £3,500
