WHAT YOU DID FOR THE LEAST OF ONES YOU DID FOR ME PASTOR’S CORNER

Humility Enthroned The very concept of Christ the King might seem rather triumphalistic in an age of expanding democratization of society. But look carefully at this king as portrayed in today’s parable: he was hungry and thirsty and naked and ill and in prison. Who are his loyal subjects? They are those who give food to the hungry and drink to the thirsty, who welcome strangers and clothe the naked, who comfort the ill and visit prisoners. What a king and what a kingdom! The goal of this king is not to oppress his subjects with his power but rather to “break the power of evil”: In this kingdom the evils of economic, medical, and criminal injustice are confronted and overcome by subjects who not only respect the “King of creation” but also “glory in his justice and live in his love.” The kingdom that we celebrate today is “a kingdom of truth and life, a kingdom of holiness and grace, a kingdom of justice, love, and peace.” Those who respect truth and life, who live in holiness and grace, and who work to bring justice, love and peace, will “inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the creation of the world.” After we have obeyed the Lord, and in his Spirit nurtured on earth the values of human dignity, brotherhood and freedom, and indeed all the good fruits of our nature and enterprise, we will find them again, but freed of stain, burnished and transfigured, when Christ hands over to the father: ‘a kingdom eternal and universal, a kingdom of truth and life, of holiness and grace, of justice, love, and peace.’ On this earth that Kingdom is already present in mystery. When the Lord returns it will be brought into full flower. Vatican II, Constitution on the Church in the Modern World, 1965: 39 Gerald Darring

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK MRS. ANTOINETTE McNAMARA The mission of All Saints Catholic School is to provide an atmosphere rich in the Catholic faith where each child is challenged to grow in a safe environment. Through word and example the students model Christ’s message of love.

Happy Thanksgiving! On behalf of the All Saints faculty, staff, and students we want to wish our parish family a very Happy and blessed Thanksgiving! The original harvest festival celebrated by the pilgrims in the fall of 1621 was to "rejoice together" and give thanks to God. It is most important as a family and parish community to come together and give thanks to our God for the abundant blessings He has given to us. St. Paul tells us, "In all circumstances give thanks for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." (1Thes. 5:18) Thank You! We thank our families for their generosity in supporting our St. Vincent DePaul Society in making Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families within our community. Each class was asked to donate particular food items for these baskets and the response was overwhelming! May God bless you for responding to the needs of our parish community! Accelerated Reading Program: We congratulate these 2nd through 5th grade students who achieved their AR goal for the first quarter of school: Matias Flores, Victoria Vargas, Nicolas Guerrero, Pedro Zito, Lindsey Polidora, Tyler Castillo, Sophia Oliveri, Nicolas Guzman, Richard Strockbine, Joseph Zheng. Ivey Eugene, Gianna Trongale, Sergio Guzman, Emily Clay, Tiffany Hayes, Hope Kinne, Sebastian Gonzalez, Mia Simmons, Martin Garcia, Lauren Borriello, Max Patitucci, Addison Sylvestre, Leslie Wagner, Isaac Rubio, Nicholas Vargas, Ryan Rohit, Jessica Gonzalez, Richard Tapia, Ange Silien,Milena Bravo, Isaiah Smith, Mariana Rueda, Sarah DeSouza, Olivia Janvier, Sofia Beltran, Bruce Eugene, Amare Hanson, Johanna Loayza, Carly Fayette, Antonio Cueto, Colby Harrington, Justin Roman, Sina Stefanos, Rylee Rainone, Andrew Cackett, Kelli Cruz, Aileen Cackett, Ilya Campo, Luci Chiliberti, Maria Contreras, Bryson Holewinski, Brianna Cackett, Jaedan Reid, Kyle Richards, Bradley Christolin, Aiden Ferrante. Maybe you don’t feel joyful this year…

At T. M. Ralph Funeral Homes, we know one of the most strenuous events for families is celebrating the holidays without their loved ones. As part of our continuing care, we have created a special holiday remembrance. At this annual event, called “Holiday Hope”, we share specific ways of coping with the season and the coming year. The evening will conclude with a nondenominational candle lighting, in which your family may participate and remember your loved one. Each person attending, we will also receive a special remembrance gift. This uplifting program is open to the entire community, and is helpful to anyone who has lost someone they love. Families and friends are encouraged to attend together. “The T.M. Ralph Family and Staff” When: December 7, 2017 7:00PM - Parish Hall at St. Benedict Episcopal Church Please bring an item to display on our memory table RSVP, not required but appreciated 954 587-6888

The All Saints Homebound Ministry is available to parishioners and care-givers of parishioners. The Homebound Ministry is designed to visit homebound persons in order to pray with them or read the Bible or just spend time together. In addition, we will sit with a loved-one for 1 to 2 hours so caregivers can run an errand (s). Visits can be scheduled for MonSun 10:00 am—5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The ministry is expanding to include shopping for those who cannot do so for themselves. We will take the first 10 persons who call for this service until we get more ministry help. If you have any questions, or would like to join the ministry, please see the listing in the back of the bulletin. You can also call Jean Rawls at 954-675-3672.

COLLECTION OF FOOD DURING ALL THE MASSES FOR THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL PANTRY Please encourage your children to bring food items to help the needy. The food will be collected at ALL the Saturday & Sunday Masses in the plastic bins at the Altar to be brought up after the Prayer of the Faithful. If you would like to donate flowers for the altar, please stop by the Church office. Your donation of altar flowers will glorify God and enhance the celebration of the Mass. Each Sunday there will be two bouquets available in memory of a loved one. The donation per bouquet is $50—this will include an announcement in the bulletin for that weekend stating for whom they are intended and by whom they are donated. The flowers will remain on the altar throughout the week as your gift to our parish. Si usted desea donar flores para el altar, pase por la Oficina de la Parroquia durante hora laborables. IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO OUR PARISHIONERS The regular use of your Sunday envelopes is very important! Whenever we do not have a record of contributions and attendance or when they have ceased, we have NO way of knowing whether someone is still worshiping with our community. Unless we know someone is a practicing Catholic, delays and hard feelings can result when people want to be married, when they want their child to be baptized, when they want to be a Godparent or a Confirmation sponsor, when they want to enroll their child in Religious Education or Sacramental preparation programs, to provide you with a record of your contributions for tax purposes and to obtain a favorable “support tuition rate” at ANY Catholic school (support rate is given ONLY to parishioners who contribute their time, talent & treasure throughout the year at All Saints Catholic Church. It is simple to establish and maintain a record of attendance at Mass and parish support, but filling out a registration form alone does NOT accomplish this, USING YOUR NUMBERED ENVELOPES ON SUNDAY does (or including your parishioner number on whatever envelope you use). Please stop by the office during office hours so we can get you ready for Sunday worship. If you are registered and are NOT receiving your pre-printed envelopes, please contact us at the Parish Office. If you are registered but have not used your Parish envelopes in the past two years, your information will be inactivated and you will no longer receive pre-printed envelopes. Thank you! Gracias!
