GENERAL RULES FOR CAVERN COVE RIMFIRE (.22) MATCH

SHOOTERS AND NON-SHOOTERS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY SUBSTANCE THAT MAY IMPAIR THEIR ABILITY TO COMPETE. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT AGAINST THE JUDGMENT OF THE RANGE OFFICER/TIMER OPERATOR. THE R.O./T.O. DECISIONS ARE NOT DEBATABLE. UNSAFE FIREARM HANDLING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. BELIGERANT ATTITUDE WILL RESULT IN A MATCH DQ. THIS IS A MUZZEL-UP OR HOLSTERED RANGE. HANDLING OF FIREARMS IS PROHIBITED EXCEPT ON THE FIRING LINE. NO SHOW AND TELL BEHIND THE FIRING LINE. THE 170 DEGREE RULE APPLIES ON THE FIRING LINE. FIREARMS MAY ONLY BE LOADED AT THE LOADING TABLE AND ON THE FIRING LINE. ALL SHOOTERS AND SPECTATORS MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION. SIDE SHIELDS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! EAR PROTECTION IS ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ALL SHOOTERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE VERY FAMILIAR WITH CAVERN COVE RANGE RULES. NO RESHOOTS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE FIRST ROUND GOES DOWN RANGE. 22 MATCH SPECIAL RULES: REVOLVERS: Two revolvers must be carried to the firing line. Fanning hammers is prohibited. Slip hammering is allowed. AT THE LOADING TABLE: Load 5 rounds in each revolver; hammer down on an empty chamber. ON THE CLOCK: Retrieve revolver and when safely pointed downrange engage targets. Place back on table or holster with hammer down on an expended round. Retrieve 2nd revolver and repeat. AT THE UNLOADING TABLE: Shooter must show clear. Point revolver safely downrange. Remove all fired cases and show all 6 empty chambers to the Unloading Table Monitor. Leave Unloading table with hammer down on an empty chamber.

PISTOLS: No more than one semi-auto pistol may be carried to the firing line. Loose magazines may be loaded at any time with 5 rounds each, but NOT inserted into the pistol. No limit on number of magazines carried to the firing line. AT THE LOADING TABLE: With magazine out, show chamber clear, close slide. Insert magazine loaded with no more than 5 rounds, DO NOT CYCLE SLIDE! ON THE CLOCK: Retrieve pistol and cycle slide when pointed safely downrange and engage targets. Tactical reloads are strictly forbidden. Shoot to slide lock or empty, drop magazine, insert second magazine, cycle slide and shoot to slide lock or empty, place back on table, DO NOT HOLSTER. At end of stage, drop magazine, place on slide lock and show clear. AT THE UNLOADING TABLE: Shooter must show clear again. Point pistol SAFELY down range. Remove magazine. Show empty chamber. Leave unloading table with slide open and magazine removed. 2|Page

Rifle; Lever or Pump 22: AT THE LOADING TABLE: Show clear by cycling the action several times. Drop hammer on a empty chamber. Load 10 rounds, or as scenario dictates. ON THE CLOCK: Retrieve rifle and when safely pointed downrange engage targets. Place open and empty rifle back on table. AT THE UNLOADING TABLE: Shooter must show clear. Point rifle safely downrange and cycle the action several times. Leave unloading table with action open and empty.

MSV (MINOR SAFETY VIOLATIONS) 10 SECOND PENALITY. SDQ (STAGE DISQUALIFICATION). MDQ (MATCH DISQUALIFICATION. SPIRIT OF THE GAME: A “SPIRIT OF THE GAME” INFRACTION OCCURS WHEN A COMPETITOR WILLFULLY OR INTENTIONALY DISREGARDS THE STAGE INSTRUCTIONS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE. 30 SECOND PENALITY. TWO SPIRIT OF THE GAME INFRACTIONS WITHIN A MATCH IS A MATCH DISQUALIFICATION.
