Student Program Information 2014 Certificate IV in Digital Media Technologies (ICA40811) The recommended Certificate IV study plan has the following key features: 

The recommended study plan will take a new student with no previous website development/digital media experience 12 months to complete.



There is a focus on website development with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.



There is a focus on creating digital media such as vector graphics using Adobe Illustrator, 3D modelling using 3DS Max and video production.



A focus on the development of websites and website content using the Adobe Creative Suite including Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop.

Underpinning Skills and Knowledge This qualification assumes no underpinning skills and knowledge.

Description

3WHS

This subject involves participation in workplace Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) consultative processes.

4CEP

This subject involves maintaining professional and ethical conduct as well as to ensure that personal information of stakeholders is handled in a confidential and professional manner when dealing with stakeholders in an information technology (IT) environment.

4HTML5

This subject covers the usage and integration of HTML5, CSS 3 and JavaScript. Students will create an interactive website from scratch by coding using the technologies mentioned above.

4EDI

This subject is concerned with following the path from taking a digital image, downloading it and then manipulating that image to meet requirements. It examines the qualities of digital cameras, how to photograph images, and then using Adobe Photoshop to manipulate those images to be used in a variety of applications, such as online media and print media.

4MWA

This subject covers the issues involved with creating a large website from beginning to end then reviewing, updating & maintaining the website. It looks at areas such as local & remote site preparation, site design, HTML5 and CSS 3 authoring using Adobe Dreamweaver and the integration of extensions into an existing site.
