This corresponds to the following areas of study within Anthropology: Ethnobiology & Ethnobotany; Bio-cultural, Medical, and Nutritional Anthropology, Ethnohistory. Research & teaching topics: supernatural beliefs; Adaptive behaviors in response to culture change, illness, and environmental stressors; genre affiliation in fandom; Evolution and Interactions between medicine, science, & cultural/religious needs; Herbal medicine and the folklore of foodways; Invented tradition, revitalization movements; and perceptions and choice in ethnobiology. Research Populations: traditional practitioners; reenactors, paracultures, alternative cultural movements. Areas: The Celtic diaspora: North America, especially Southeastern U.S. and Western Europe. The Korean Hallyu.
