Chansons e chansonniers
balletto di Adriana Mortelliti su canzoni francesi Il lavoro coreografico, concepito in una successione di quadri indipendenti, gioca con gli stereotipi culturali suggeriti dalla canzone francese, li supera e, perdendo ogni connotazione geografica, diventa sfondo di passioni universali alle quali fanno eco le contaminazioni della poesia urbana contemporanea. In un luogo apparentemente non ben definito, in un’atmosfera ora rarefatta e nostalgica, ora giocosa ed ironica che ciascuno spettatore può percepire secondo una propria emotività, i danzatori “raccontano” storie di tutti i giorni. Storie che parlano d’amore e di indifferenza, di incontri e di solitudine, di amicizia e di sentimenti. Di emozioni…
Il fenomeno più grosso e culturalmente più accreditato della canzone europea è legato agli chansonniers francesi. Il fenomeno ha il suo centro nel periodo compreso tra gli anni ‘30 e i primi anni ‘50, con una ripresa intorno agli anni ‘60. Inizialmente si forma il nucleo dei cantautori, autori di chansons e chansonniers essi stessi, artisti intellettuali della “rive gauche” che domineranno il panorama culturale della canzone francese: Leo Ferré, Brassens, Yves Montand, George Moustaki ed ancora Juliette Greco, Barbara e altri celebri artisti. I testi lirici, poetici ed amorosi, in cui fa capolino la realtà sociale dei quartieri malfamati prima e successivamente più duri, che parlano di politica, vedono affermarsi autori come Cocteau, Prévert e Vian che scrivono canzoni per alcuni grandi interpreti, prima tra tutti Edith Piaf. Nata nel 1915, Edith Piaf è stata la più grande “chanteuse realiste” francese tra gli anni ‘30 e ‘60 e con la sua voce aggressiva e rauca, a tratti dolcissima, oppure improvvisamente allegra, è stata interprete di canzoni intramontabili come Les amantes d’un jour, Milord, La vie en rose. Inoltre ha lanciato nel panorama musicale internazionale numerosi artisti tra cui un altro grande della canzone francese: Charles Aznavour.

ballet by Adriana Mortelliti on French songs The Chansons’ choreographic work is designed in a succession of independent scenes, playing with the cultural stereotypes that the French song suggests. This work loses any geographical significance, and becomes the backdrop of universal passion which is echoed by the contamination of contemporary urban poetry. In an undefinied location, in a special atmosphere now nostalgic, now playful and ironic, the dancers “tell” every day stories. Stories about love and indifference, meetings and loneliness, friendship and feelings... Stories of emotions.
The largest and most culturally credited phenomenon of European song is connected to French chansonniers. The phenomenon has its center in the period between the ‘30s and early ‘50s, with a revival in the ‘60s. The group of songwriters, artists, intellectuals of the “rive gauche” that was formed at the beginning will dominate the cultural landscape of the French song: Leo Ferré, Brassens, Yves Montand, George Moustaki, Juliette Greco, Barbara and other famous artists. Authors such as Cocteau, Prévert and Vian become famous. Their songs are about love but also describe the social reality of the slums first and then talk about politics. These authors write songs for some great singers, first of all Edith Piaf. She was born in 1915 and she is considered the most popular French “chanteuse” between the years ‘30s and ‘60s. Piaf was famous for her voice, aggressive and raucous, sometimes sweet, or suddenly cheerful and she was an interpreter of timeless songs such as Les Lovers d’un jour, Milord, La vie en rose. She also launched on the international music scene several artists. One of these is Charles Aznavour, another symbol of French song.
Contaminazioni rap
La presenza di Abd Al Malik, artista franco-congolese che privilegia lo stile rap e la slam poetry, è solo apparentemente estranea alla scelta degli altri interpreti. Rappresenta la voce africana, spesso emarginata, e parla di immigrazione e riscatto sociale, dando valore a un testo forte di senso e di emozione accompagnato da una musica che supporta e amplifica l’intensità della parola. Nel suo percorso artistico non esita a collaborare con grandi della canzone francese come Jacques Brel e Juliette Greco.

The presence of Abd Al Malik, who favors rap style and slam poetry, is apparently unrelated to the choice of the other performers. In his career he has worked with some big of French song as Jacques Brel and Juliette Greco.
Adriana Mortelliti – Coreografa/Choreographer Si è formata presso lo Spid di Milano, l’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Milano e presso SiWiC, Swiss International Coaching Project for Choreographers diretto da Ismael Ivo. Danzatrice, coreografa e costumista, ha danzato e collaborato con il Teatro alla Scala, Movers Dance Company e Looping Contemporary D.C. di Zurigo, Openhaus di Zurigo, Stadtheater Kempten, Ballett Theater di Aussburg , Seul Dance Festival e al Daegu International Dance Festival. È stata assistente alla coreografia in numerose produzioni e ha firmato i costumi per importanti teatri e compagnie. Parallelamente alla carriera di danzatrice, dal 1996 ha iniziato un percorso coreografico con il quale ha inoltre ottenuto prestigiosi riconoscimenti internazionali. Per la sua creazione Chansons per il balletto di Milano le è stato assegnato il Premio Vespasiano 2012 quale miglior coreografa emergente. She trained at the Spid of Milan, the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Milan and SiWiC, Swiss International Coaching Project for Choreographers directed by Ismael Ivo. Dancer, choreographer and costume designer, she has danced and collaborated with the Teatro alla Movers Contemporary Dance Company and Looping D.C. Zurich, Zurich Openhaus, Stadtheater Kempten, Ballet Theater Aussburg, Seoul Dance Daegu Dance Festival and the International Festival (South Korea). She was also assistant choreographer for numerous productions and costumes design for major theaters and companies. Parallel to her career as a dancer, since 1996 she started choreography and received prestigious international awards . For her work Chansons for Balletto di Milano she is awarded with Prize Vespasiano 2012 as best choreographer.
