Acidase Peptone It is an HCl (Hydrochloric acid) hydrolysate of casein containing of 8% nitrogen, 37% salts and is deficient in cystein and tryptophan. It is deficient in cystine, because casein contains little cystine, and in tryptophan, which are destroyed by the acid treatment. Acidicase Peptone is intended for use as a nutritional supplement in vitamin assay. It is also called as acid casein peptone.

In place of, the poly-saccharides other compounds of the sugar series such as glucose, milk-sugar, cane-sugar, maltose, raffinose, cellobiose, etc. may be used. The process for the manufacture of water soluble goldpeptone-saccharide-complexes, comprising causing a gold salt to act upon a peptone and a water-soluble member of the group consisting of mono-, di-, tri- and polysaccharides in aqueous weakly acid solution as long as metallic gold is separated out and removing the metal.

Lactalbumin Hydrolysate Peptone A peptone that is obtained from pancreatic digest of lactalbumin and whey protein. As it contains high amount of amino acids it is used in media for tissue culture.

Classification of Peptone

It may be taken cold in doses of one to four tea spoon iced, or with carbonic-acid water, or wines, but it should not be mixed with milk or other foods. Beef peptonoids are also mixed with predigested milk and gluten.

Pancreatic Digest of Casein (Peptone C) Pancreatic Digest of Casein is recommended for preparing media where an enzymatic hydrolyzed casein is

Pancreatic Digest of Gelatin (Peptone G) Pancreatic Digest of Gelatin is deficient in carbohydrates. Pancreatic Digest of Gelatin is used as a media ingredient for fermentation studies, and alone to support the growth of non-fastidious microorganisms.

Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal (Peptone S) Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal is a nitrogen source, and contains the naturally occurring high concentrations of vitamins and carbohydrates of soybean. Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal minimizes bovine spongiform encephalopathy(BSE) risk in vaccine production because the origin of this product is plant.

Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue (Peptone A) Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue provides nitrogen, amino acids, vitamins and carbon in microbiological culture.

Papaic Soy Peptone Papaic soy peptone is an animal free peptone that is obtained by defatting soybean flour with high carbohydrate content and balanced amount of amino acids and vitamins. It is soluble in water.
