Bob’s Outstanding Runs on the Board Highlights: Multi-tasker: Bob Molle both wrestled and played football while attending Simon Fraser University from 1981 to 1986. Top Wrestler: Bob wrestled his way to the number one spot in the Canadian national championship’s 100+ kg freestyle division to become the first heavyweight to win four straight National Intercollegiate titles. One of Canada’s finest freestyle wrestlers, his impressive collection features national and international trophies. Olympic Medalist: Bob won the 100+ kg freestyle silver wrestling medal at the 1984 Olympic Games at age 21 and only 18 days after surgery. In 1984, Bob had seized first place in the Olympic trials and first again at the Italian Invitational. And he earned the Olympic Champion Award at the Tribute to the Champions. Great record: Bob earned Top 3 placement in 13 of the 18 national and international events in which he competed. Legendary stuff: Bob Molle has been inducted into Simon Fraser University’s Hall of Fame, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Hall of Fame and the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Association (CAWA) Hall of Fame. Coaching Bombers. He played professionally as an offensive guard for the Blue Bombers for 7 years. With Bob, the Bombers won the coveted Grey Cup in both 1988 and 1990. At the same time, Bob ran a marathon, finished the Canadian Ironman event and competed in triathlons. For a change of pace, he began bodybuilding and competed in two competitions.
