Comparing the Qur’an & the Bible Person #1 – Get on iPad and look up assigned Quran verses on the Quran Majeed App. If you open the app and everything is in Arabic, click the flower icon in the middle at the top and you will see options to add an English translation. There are 3 available translations; you may want to try each of them until you find the one that is easiest for you to understand. With person #2 analyze the verses. Person #2 – Look up assigned verses in a (paper) Bible (or if your group has three iPads, you may use the Logos Bible App). With person #1, analyze the two passages. How are they similar & how are they different? What key differences point to theological differences between Christians and Muslims? Person #3 – In Keynote on the iPad create a presentation that compares the similarities & differences in the Bible/Qu’ran verses (Persons #1 & #2 will give you content). You can create a chart, table, ven diagram, picture based slide, or anything else you think can easily teach your classmates how these verses are similar and how they are different. Create a new presentation and name it by the subject of your verses (i.e. Birth of Jesus) and your class period. Use the help icon in the app if you have trouble navigating. Person #4 – Go to a computer in the back of the room and create 2 Wordles (http://www.wordle.net) – one for your group’s assigned Qur’an verses & one for your group’s assigned Bible verses. I recommend using http://al-quran.info and http://www.biblegateway.com for your verses. Select accurate, appropriate translations that use words you understand. When you are finished, use the snipping tool on the computer to take a snapshot of your two wordles and e-mail them to person #3 so they can insert them in your group’s Keynote presentation. Verse pairs (Use the spaces below to take notes while the other groups are presenting): 1. Qur’an 19:1-21 and Luke 1:5-56

AMDG 2. Qur’an 19: 22-34 and Luke 2:1-20

3. Qur’an 4:154-158 and Romans 6:3-11

5. Qur’an 2:183-187 and Matthew 6:1-18
