ur 2012 AECT International Convention in Louisville, Kentucky is right around the corner. In this month’s column we hope to provide you with some planned highlights for the convention.

Convention Highlights Tuesday, October 30 – Pre-convention Workshops (all day), Kentucky Derby Museum and Historic Walking Tour (5 hour tour, fee covers transportation and admission – see the Convention site for more information). Wednesday, October 31 – Preconvention Workshops (morning), Opening General Session and Keynote Address by Dr. Yong Zhao, Welcome Reception Thursday, November 1 – Breakfast with Champions, Concurrent Ses-

sions, General Session with Keynote Address by Dr. Malcolm Brown, Affiliate Reception, Annual International Dinner and Auction. Friday, November 2 – Concurrent Sessions, AECT Member Meeting with Keynote Address by Dr. Daniel Willingham, Joint University Reception. Saturday, November 3 – Concurrent Sessions, Post Convention Workshops. Special Event - Breakfast with Champions – Taking a cue from last year’s tremendous success, we will again be hosting a Breakfast with Champions on Thursday morning. This event will again bring together the leaders of the field with our members in an informal breakfast setting. Be sure to get your ticket early so you can share morning coffee, juice, and muffins with promi-

nent individuals in our field. Table assignments will be first come first seated, so plan on an early morning. A special thanks to Walden University for again sponsoring this exciting event.

Final Thoughts With our dynamic keynote speakers, compelling presenters, and captivating events such as our Kentucky Derby Museum and Historic  Walking Tour, Convention Workshops, Welcome Reception, Breakfast with Champions, Joint University Reception, and International School Media Festival (ISMF), we are sure to have another sensational convention in the energetic city of Louisville.
