COURSE OUTLINE REQUIRED MATERIALS Brady Prehospital Emergency Care 9th Edition- J. Mistovich RECOMMENDED MATERIALS Brady Prehospital Care Workbook 6th Edition Course Syllabus CD-ROM GENERAL INFORMATION • All weekly objectives should be reviewed prior to class. This preparation is necessary to facilitate class discussion and participation. •

Attendance is required at all class meetings. Please notify the Program Director via email if you will be unable to attend a class. Multiple absences will affect your overall grade.



Tests can not be made up. If a test is missed, the student must immediately notify the Program Director.



A current CPR card (American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider) must be turned into the Lab Instructor by the third week of class. Students will be dropped from the course if a valid card is not turned in.



Two copies of the Student Profile must be turned into the Lab Instructor by the third week of class. Students will be dropped from the course if the completed forms are not handed in. You must provide proof of immunizations and completion of a general physical.

GRADING POLICY The grade for the course will be based on the percentage of the total points earned for the lecture class. A total grade of 70% or more must be achieved to receive a course completion certificate. The percentage breakdown will be: 90-100%=A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D < 60% = F The Lab is graded on a Credit/No Credit basis. An overall score of 75% or greater must be achieved to receive Credit. If a student receives < 75 % in the Lab Section, they will not receive a course completion certificate. METHODS OF EVALUATION Lecture: Written exams will be given at the end of each ‘Part’ of the textbook. The exam dates will be given in class and posted on the LBCC Website Final Exam—150 points Lab: Points will be awarded based on student competency during skills testing. More information will be given in Lab.
