Darnel St. Pierre, who calls Kelowna home, came to the Leafs by way of the Revelstoke Grizzlies. Nelson hosting the Cyclone Taylor was one reason for St. Pierre choosing Nelson, but his mother grew up here and the Leafs are a “good team.” “DSP” plays defence and shoots right. He names Brent Gilchrist, his Midget AAA coach, as the most important person in his hockey development. His most memorable hockey experience was touring Australia with his midget team. His worst experience? His team losing a playoff game seven to Sicamous at 3 AM! In his free time, Darnel enjoys playing video games. His favourite food? “Pizza.” Favourite TV show? “Game of Thrones.” Favourite movie? “Catch Me If You Can.” Favourite actor? “Leo DiCaprio.” Favourite music? It’s hip-hop with Jay-Z. Favourite NHL team and player? “Colorado Avalanche and Pittsburg’s Kris Letang.” His goal for this year? “Help the Leafs win the Cyclone Taylor Cup.” Five years from now he hopes to have completed a university degree. His pre-game routine is to put his gear on “left side to right side.”
