DEAFS  test  at  the  bottom  seafloor:  nearby  Montsegur  (EMSO-­‐Azores;  Lucky  Strike  Hydrothermal  field)     1.   On-­‐board  of  the  Pourquoi  Pas?  Research  Vessel.  

  DEAFS  getting  ready  for  deployment.  DEAFS  instrument  has  been  jointly  designed  and  fabricated  by  Geosciences  Environnement  Toulouse  GET   (CNRS  UMR5563)  and  TOP  Industrie  S.A.S.  (http://www.top-­‐industrie.com).  The  intellectual  properties  have  been  facilitated  by  Toulouse  Tech   Transfer  (www.toulouse-­‐tech-­‐transfer.com).  Credit:  V.  Chavagnac,  CNRS.        

2.   DEAFS  set-­‐up  in  NASA,  prior  to  deployment  at  the  bottom  seafloor  

  Alain  Castillo  (Assistant  Engineer  CNRS-­‐GET)  and  Valérie  Chavagnac  (Researcher  CNRS-­‐GET)  are  in  charge  of  high-­‐temperature  hydrothermal  fluid   sampling   at   the   EMSO-­‐Azores   deep-­‐sea   observatory.   Their   tools   -­‐   4   gas-­‐tight   titanium   syringes   and   DEAFS   -­‐   are   set-­‐up   in   NASA,   ready   for   deployment.  Credit:  C.  Destrigneville  (University  of  Toulouse  -­‐  GET)      

3.   DEAFS  at  the  seafloor.  

  DEAFS  has  been  set-­‐up  at  the  bottom  seafloor  for  test.  The  instrument  was  scheduled  to  perform  fluid  sampling  every  hour  on  the  13-­‐14th  of  July   Credit:  ROV  Victor  6000,  CNRS/IFREMER,  cruise  MoMARSAT’2017.
