y heartfelt goes to all the staff at East Boom CHC and a thank you. It gives me great pleasure to say 2010 was a difficult year to all the staff and patients and the world cup did not remain in South Africa. I am very proud to say the staff has shown togetherness, dedication, compassion and understanding throughout the year. In a nutshell no road is smooth hoping that next year our roads will be smoother. To all the staff members Christmas is the time for giving and sharing, please take care of your loved ones and I am wishing you all the best for 2011…..

The few inserted pictures basically outlines briefly what is our Labour ward looks like inside..

ur Labour Ward was opened on the 1st of August 2010. I am proud to say that we are now having a full fledged maternity unit. I would like to thank our management team who made an extra effort to make our dreams to come true. Since we opened our labour ward we have delivered 30 live babies and we are expecting more deliveries to be conducted. From this mment onwards we are looking forward to get an X mas baby as well as a New Year. Well that was the comment we had from our Maternity Department Operational Manager.

HCT PROMOTING MMC CAMPAIGN

SR. B. NDLELA — NERVE PERSON OF THE CAMPAIGN.

e had a brief chat with Sr Ndlela who is a Nerve Person at East Boom CHC ARV department with regard to the HCT Promotion MMC Campaign. This is what she had to say: “Our Campaigns went very well although some days the weather was unfavorable. We as a team of East Boom CHC targeted the following areas:

Ward 29 and 34.which include places like , Eastwood, Hanniville,, Copesville, Ezinketheni.

I would like to thank the support that we received from the Ward Counsellors of Ward 29 and 34 as well as the ward committee. We managed to meet our objective that is to re-promote MMC and HCT. We are still looking forward to visit other Wards in early 2011. I would like to thank the Management of East Boom as well as the team that gave support. Sr B Ndlela commented.

cting CEO awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to Maternity staff who worked beyond call of duty during the strike which took place in August. She also thanked the staff for an effort to come on duty that times. Operational Manager D.A.M. Gwamanda who is in charge of Maternity recommitted herself to continue performing her duties as a nurse until she retired. We had a conversation with Sr TM Mncwabe our Professional - Maternity Section.

ur Labour ward reopened on the 1st of August 2010. on the 26th of December at 00:15 I delivered a live female baby who weighs 3.75 kg. I feel very proud to deliver the Christmas baby and I am still looking forward for another New Year's baby.

ON THE PICTURE IS THE TEAM THAT WAS ON DUTY ON 26 DECEMBER WHEN THE BABY WAS DELIVERED.

Three times I begged the Lord to make this suffering go away. But he replied, “My gift of underserved grace is all that you need, my power is strongest when you are weak.
