Consecration of Our New Bishop Geoff Peddle Friday January 17, 2014 at the Cathedral. THANK YOU to all who supported last Sundays coffee time in aid of the Philippines. Our Youth Group raised $596.55. This money will be sent to Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund specifically for aid to the typhoon disaster. As of November 28 Canadian Anglicans have raised $215,000.00 for the Philippines. The Federal Government has extended the date for dollar to dollar matching until December 23, 2013 2014 Church Calendars are now available from the table outside the church office. Cost: $5.00.

OUR CHRISTMAS OUTREACH This year the Good Shepherd will focus on two areas of outreach the Seniors Resource Centre and the Day Break Parent Child Centre. All items need to be brought in no later than December 15. The following items are needed for the Seniors Resource Centre: Toothbrush/ toothpaste 2014 Calendar Christmas dish cloth/tea towel Tin ham Stamps & envelopes Tin salmon/fish/tuna Tin vegetables Tin fruit/fruit cups Tin/packets biscuits Christmas cake Christmas goodies (pretzels, chocolates etc.) Tea/coffee Sugar Paper towels/ tissues/toilet paper Lip balm Toque/hat, gloves, socks, scarf Gift cards from Coleman’s (they deliver) Cheese, fruits & veggies (bring these items Dec. 15) Items for Day Break Parent Child Centre: diapers of all sizes. Bring your “Canadian Tire Money” to Church We will be saving Canadian Tire Money and using it to purchase things for the Church. There is a box just outside the kitchen door. Please place your Canadian Tire Money there. Mugs for the KitchenIf you have spare mugs or a surplus of mugs that you no longer need we will gladly take them for our kitchen. Prayers of the People is a vital ministry within our 11 am Sunday worship. If you would like to be a reader for our prayers please contact Rev. Nathan or Rev. Charlene. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. Arctic Char Dinner Tickets are now available and would make a wonderful Christmas gift. This annual dinner will take place January 25. 2014.

Anglican Journal/Anglican Life is our church news publication that is distributed each month. This is the time of the year to update the mailing list. If you do not receive this and would like to or if you have a new mailing address please contact Rev. Charlene. Parish Financial Contributions for 2013: will be accepted until December 31, 2013. After that date all contributions will be credited to 2014. Parish Invoices: Any group or individual with outstanding invoices for items purchased for the parish please submit them before December 31, 2013

A Note from Anglican Chaplaincy, Eastern Health A reminder for persons entering the St. john’s hospitals and who would like to see a chaplain during your stay to make sure you or a family member tells the admitting clerk “I would like to see the chaplain during my time in the hospital.” You will then be asked your religious affiliation and will receive a visit from the chaplain within a day or two. Children’s Christmas Pageant will be held Sunday December 15 at the 11 am service. Rehearsal is Saturday December 14 at 11 am followed by our Children’s Christmas Part at noon. Children with speaking parts are asked to arrive at 10:30 am. Costumes should be available for most parts. To confirm your child or children will be attending please call the church office at 7471022 and leave a message or email Val Tilley at [email protected] PARISH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD PART TIME OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR REQUIRED Applications are currently being accepted for the position of part time office administrator with our parish. Applicants must have completed an Office Administration program from a recognized office administration/secretarial training program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Qualifications: Good working knowledge of office practices and procedures, computers and associated equipment, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, internet, word processing, and spreadsheet/data base software. Willingness to work in a team setting is essential. Closing Date: The closing date for applications for this position is December 20th 2013.
