Meyers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) MBTI® personality inventory has helped millions of individuals gain insights about themselves and how they interact with others. The MBTI assessment enables personal transformation by giving people a powerful tool for improving how they communicate, learn and work. The essence of type theory is that much seemingly random variation in behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent; being due to basic differences in the ways individuals orient toward the external world, take in information, and draw conclusions about what they perceive. The MBTI® tool’s positive approach to understanding differences between people has made it the world’s most popular personality assessment. Its deceptively simple but sound and enduring psychological theory can transform the performance of individuals, groups and entire organizations. Individuals who take the MBTI® assessment often experience “aha!” moments as they come to better understand themselves and how they approach work and day-to-day life. The MBTI® is instrumental in helping individuals and teams build their competencies in: teamwork, leadership, interpersonal skills, conflict management, executive management, stress management, career planning and so much more.

Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) Conflict in the workplace—between coworkers, team/family members, and anyone else who might have a difference of opinion—is an ongoing challenge. TKI helps people understand their preferred approach to managing interpersonal conflict and learn new approaches. The TKI tool assesses an individual’s behavior in conflict situations and describes it along two dimensions: assertiveness and cooperativeness. The tool provides detailed information about how you can use five different modes, or styles—competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating— effectively. The TKI model demonstrates that these different behaviors are neither good nor bad but simply different ways of dealing with conflict. Gaining insight into your own and others’ behavior helps you make better choices about outcomes. This research-backed assessment offers a practical way to initiate safe and calm yet purposeful dialogue to resolve or manage conflict and help your family and employees work together more effectively. It is often said that business is about relationships. By increasing your level of self and social awareness by applying what will be learned in this high-impact training session for Vermont agricultural producers and ag industry service providers, you will be on your way to becoming a key influencer in your community.
