TRUE OR FALSE? Misconception: When leaves make food, they only require chlorophyll to trap sunlight. Actual fact: The presence of chlorophyll is insufficient for plants to make food through the process of photosynthesis. Many other enzymes and organic compounds, such as carbon dioxide, are required.

Misconception: The roots of all plants require the presence of soil. Actual fact: The roots of some plants grow in the presence of soil but the roots of other plants can grow in the absence of soil, such as water plants. There are three many groups of water plants, which are the submerged plants, partially submerged plants and floating plants.

Misconception: Stems only have one function, which is to support plants. Actual fact: Stems also carry food, water and mineral salts to all parts of the plant. In addition, some stems, such as potatoes and ginger, store food for the plant. Ways to Categorize Leaves Shapes
