Kai Meyer (Loewe) author Kai Meyer published his first novel when he was 23 years old. Since then he has written about forty novels for both adolescents and adults. His greatest success so far has been the "Flowing Queen" trilogy, centring on Merle and the Flowing Queen. The trilogy consists of the individual titles "The Flowing Queen", "The Stone Light" and "The Glass Word". In 2003, "The Flowing Queen" was nominated for the prestigious "German Book Award". All three titles were in bestselling lists for weeks, and more than 250.000 copies were sold in Germany alone. Meyer's next trilogy about the "Wave Runners" became an equal success. Since October 2005, his trilogies are also published in the US. For his atmospheric stand-alone novel "Frostfeuer" Meyer received the "Corine"-award in the category Books for Children and Adolescents in © Melanie Grande
2005. In the summer of 2006, with the title "Silk and Sword" the Cloud People trilogy was launched. In "Silk
and Sword", Meyer invokes the atmosphere of traditional China with his expressive language and moreover discovers the clouds as an extraordinary setting for his plot. Kay Meyer was born in 1969. After he finished school he studied film and theatre sciences for a while, and worked as a journalist after that. Since 1995 he works as a free-lance author and lives with his family in a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia.
