MATHCOUNTS Preparation Course _____________________________________________________ Goal: To support local middle schools in providing customized coaching for students who participate in MATHCOUNTS each year. Program Objective: As MATHCOUNTS inspires excellence, confidence and curiosity in middle school students - this preparation course has three program goals: (1) increasing achievement, (2) helping students discover their hidden talent, and (3) building a lasting interest in mathematics. Strategy: 12 weeks class for students strong in pre-algebra will go through rapid learning in lessons listed below and will solve hard math problems in class and discuss homework assignments.
