ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSORS in DIABETES RESEARCH Division of Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology University of South Florida As part of a joint effort between the Division of Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology (CMMB) within the College of Arts and Sciences and the University of South Florida (USF) Center of Excellence for Diabetes and Autoimmune Disorders, we are seeking applications for two faculty positions at the Associate or Full Professor level with a track record of NIH funding. The successful candidate for the genetics of diabetes position will be actively involved in the mapping of diabetes and/or other susceptibility genes. Research interests may include: (1) identifying the genetic contribution to multiple autoimmune phenotypes; (2) investigating the genetic basis of preclinical markers of type-1 diabetes; or (3) genetic epidemiology. We seek candidates with a proven track record in the immunology of diabetes including research interests in (1) immunogenetics of diabetes, including intervention strategies that target specific pathways; or (2) molecular and functional role of T-cell immunity relevant to the etiology of diabetes and/or associated autoimmune diseases. Faculty hired for these positions must have a Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral experience, and relevant publications. Successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain strong, externally funded research programs, interact extensively with the USF Center of Excellence for Diabetes and Autoimmune Disorders, teach one course/year at the graduate level, and direct Ph.D. and M.S. graduate students. Division Director X-Ray Science Advanced Photon Source The X-Ray Science Division (XSD) at Argonne National Laboratory is one of three divisions comprising the Advanced Photon Source (APS), which is the brightest source of x–rays in the western hemisphere and attracts over 3,000 scientific users each year. The division has over 160 employees, the majority of whom operate and carry out research on the 30 x-ray beamlines managed by the Advanced Photon Source. Over 280 publications have been co-authored by XSD scientists in 2007 and over 480 publications from the beamlines operated by XSD. The Genetic Networks Program of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) invites applications for Junior (Post-Doctoral) Fellowships from candidates interested in using genome-scale information to understand complex genetic phenotypes.
