Project: Square Scarf—Tan & Paisley Materials:

• 1 yard of fabric • Software with monogramming capabilities Scarf Construction: 1. Cut square from fabric 34 inches by 34 inches. 2. Hem edge with a narrow fold over the hem. 3. Monogram where desired.

create the monograms. The font chosen was Heirloom. The Motif Shape 12 was chosen from the Shapes Motif, which is an appliqué friendly motif. The motif size was increased and then the motif width decreased to achieve the desired look.

Monogram Construction for Tan Scarf: 1. For this project, Monogram Wizard software was used to create the monograms.

monogram style. The motif Freestyle 8 from the motif pack Freestyle was used to accent the monogram.

Regular Monogram 1. For this project, Monogram Wizard software was used to create the monograms.

2. The font used was Ad First. 3. The desired Monogramming Style was then selected. Project: Green Muffler with Fringe Materials:

• 1 yard of fabric (this particular piece of fabric had a border and fringe at one end)

• Software with monogramming capabilities Scarf Construction: 1. Cut out two pieces 18-inches wide and 30-inches long. 2. With the right sides together, sew the pieces together to form one long 60-inch strip.

3. Fold in half lengthwise and determine placement of monogram.

4. Sew monogram above the border. 5. Fold scarf in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch a 1/2-inch seam the length of the scarf.

6. Turn fabric to the right side and press. 7. Stitch ends closed just above fringe if desired.

• 1 yard of fabric • Software with monogramming capabilities Scarf Construction: 1. Cut fabric crosswise, creating a 60-inch by 18-inch (or 54 inch by 18 inch) piece.

2. Fold in half lengthwise and determine placement of monogram. 3. Sew monogram. 4. Fold in half, right sides together, and stitch with a 1/2-inch seam the length of the scarf.

5. Turn fabric to the right side and press. 6. Measure 2 1/2-inches from each end of the muffler and mark.

7. Sew across the fabric at these marks. 8. Create fringe by cutting fabric on the ends up to the sew line. E J
