4. AUDIO APPENDIX FOH engineer:

Dave Lamb Any correspondence should be directed towards the Tour Manager.

PA: The PA system must be well adjusted to the venue, and deliver undistorted sound at 120db spl. There must be delay zones where the main clusters/PA doesn’t have coverage. System controllers must be available at FOH position, and open to be adjusted. The PA must be a minimum 4 way system with : sub- lomid – highmid - high all run in-line. PA preferred: d+B,Turbosound Flood/Flashlight - EAW KF750 - Nexo Alfa. There must be a 30 band eq inserted across left/right. Preferred: Klark Teknik DN360. Please forward spec. of supplied PA for approval A.S.A.P. PREAMPS Dependant on the backline being used, in most cases The Hives will carry API mic preamps for all channels. These are located on stage, beside monitor console. The patch is XLR straight into the house split – to be provided by PA supplier. We will have the snake input/output from the pre-amp to the house split. We also carry all necessary sub-snakes for the Hives’ use only. All we require is XLR access to the split on stage and 220V power from the same phase as the rest of the Audio. Should this change the Tour Manager will advise during the advance. F.O.H: Mixing console must have a minimum of 48ch input, 8 audio groups, 8 VCA group and 8 post fader aux sends. There must be a 4 band eq on each ch, with sweep and Q filter. The console should be a : Midas XL4/XL200, Midas H2000/H3000/H4000, PM5D Midas XL4 is preferred. Absolutely no Yamaha or Allen & Heath. Mix position must be central to stage. Outboard should be placed to the engineers right hand side, and must contain a minimum of: 6ch. Gate (Drawmer,BSS) 6 compressor channels of dbx 160’s 1ch. Dynamic eq (BSS 901 or stereo Klark Technics. 31 Band analog or digital. 1 Tube Stereo Compressor ( which can be inserted into the L& R mix) 1 Good quality reverb (Lexicon PCM 91/81/70) 1 Good quality multi effects (Yamaha SPX 900/990) 1 Good quality delay with tap control (TC 2290/D-TWO) 1 CD player ( or the ability to add an ipod to facilitate the bands intro) There must be an intercom system between F.O.H and monitor position.

Monitor: THE HIVES are very loud on stage and require a first class monitor system. 10 x bi-amped wedges loaded with either 1x15”and 2” or 2x12”and 2”. Preferred makes; Turbosound TFM 330/450, Nexo SM15, EAW SM400/500. L & R Side-fills should be tri-amped. (refer to stage plot for placement) Tannoy, TOA and Yamaha are not accepted. Monitor desk should be ANALOG of high quality, with a minimum of 32 inputs, 10 auxiliary sends, 4 band full parametric EQ with sweep and Q on each channel. Preferred console: Midas XL3-250 or Soundcraft Series Five Mackie, Behringer, Spirit or similar are not accepted. 10 ch of grapic eq. Type: Klark Teknik DN360, Helix. The house monitor engineer who is familiar with the system shall be available from load in to assist. NOTE: Digital consoles are NOT acceptable without prior approval.

The “LETTERS” are 5 pieces 1x1m standard risers in different heights from 40cm to 80 cm. The risers are supplied by the band. The Letters are assembled onto the risers as soon as possible after load in, and tested. They are on wheels and are rolled into position. The letters are between 2.4 and 2.8m high on risers. WE WILL REQUIRE: 1x single phase 16a schucko behind drums and 1 x dmx-line from FOH is all we require.

It assumed that there will be a black backdrop present covering the rear of the stage and in front of any build area for other bands. ( we – the Artist – does not supply this backdrop)

OTHER: • There needs to be at least 1 hour allocated to the LD for programming prior to the show. • The time is to be outside of changeover time. Ie. Show is to be considered from change over to when the band leaves the stage.
