Novena Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children, we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially ...(special intention). We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your gentle care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all of us, Holy Mother, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever. Amen. Nottingham Roman Catholic

Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima Beloved Mother, most holy Virgin, Our Lady of Fatima, we acknowledge with sadness the suffering of your Immaculate Heart, surrounded as it is with the thorns ungrateful people have placed around your heart. Moved by our love of you as our Mother, we place ourselves at your feet and humbly want to make reparations to you by means of our prayers and sacrifices for the grievances you have suffered. Speak on our behalf, Fairest Lady, and obtain for us pardon of our sins and grace to make amends for them. Hasten the conversion of all peoples so that they may learn to love the Lord. Turn your eyes of mercy toward us, so that we may love God with all our hearts while on earth and enjoy his presence forever in heaven. Amen. Nottingham Roman Catholic

1. Immaculate Mary! Our hearts are on fire, that title so wondrous fills all our desire. Ave, ave, ave Maria! Ave, ave, ave Maria! 2. We pray for God’s glory, the Lord’s kingdom come! We pray for his vicar, our father, and Rome. 3. We pray for our mother the church upon earth, and bless, sweetest lady, the land of our birth. 4. For poor, sick, afflicted thy mercy we crave; and comfort the dying thou light of the grave. 5. There is no need, Mary, nor ever has been, which thou canst not succour, Immaculate Queen.

Soul of my Saviour sanctify my breast, Body of Christ, be thou my saving guest, Blood of my Saviour, bathe me in thy tide, wash me with waters flowing from thy side. Strength and protection may thy passion be, O blessed Jesus, hear and answer me; deep in thy wounds, Lord, hide and shelter me, so shall I never, never part from thee. Guard and defend me from the foe malign, in death's dread moments make me only thine; call me and bid me come to thee on high where I may praise thee with thy saints for aye.

6. To God be all glory and worship for aye, and to God’s virgin mother an endless Ave. Nottingham Roman Catholic 7. Diocesan Education Service

Hail, Queen of heav'n, the ocean star, guide of the wand'rer here below! Thrown on life's surge we claim thy care; save us from peril and from woe. Mother of Christ, Star of the sea, Pray for the wanderer, pray for me. O gentle, chaste, and spotless Maid, we sinners make our prayers thro' thee. Remind thy Son that He has paid the price of our iniquity. Virgin most pure, Star of the sea, pray for the sinner, pray for me. Sojourners in this vale of tears, to thee, blest advocate, we cry. Oh, pity our sorrows, calm our fears, and soothe with hope our misery. Refuge in grief, Star of the sea, Pray for the mourner, pray for me.

I'll sing a hymn to Mary, The Mother of my God, The Virgin of all virgins, Of David's royal blood. O teach me, Holy Mary, A loving song to frame, When wicked men blaspheme thee, To love and bless thy name. O Lily of the Valley, O Mystic Rose, what tree, Or flower, e'en the fairest, Is half so fair as thee? O let me, tho' so lowly Recite my Mother's fame. When wicked men blaspheme thee, I'll love and bless thy name. O noble Tower of David, Of gold and ivory. The ark of God's own promise, The gate of Heav'n to me. To live and not to love thee Would fill my soul with shame. When wicked men blaspheme thee, I'll love and bless thy name.

O FATIMA, FAREWELL! O Virgin of the Rosary of Fatima dear Lady, O dearest Queen of Heaven to save thou’ art ever ready. O Virgin of the Rosary of Fatima dear Lady, As now we leave your sanctuary once more we kneel before thee.

Refrain: Just one more final prayer as we leave, O Mother Mary! May our hearts ever ring with the words that we sing: Oh Fatima! Farewell! Mother dear, Farewell!

Before we leave O Mother oh, hear our prayer of sorrow, And save us from all danger today, tonight, tomorrow. Before we leave, O Mother have mercy on our sorrow, And ever be our guardian, today, tonight, tomorrow.

O Mother as we leave you the tears to our eyes are springing, But still our hearts with happiness, your love, your praise are singing. O Mother as we leave you our eyes with tears are dimming, But though we weep at parting our souls with love are brimming. Nottingham Roman Catholic
