FAQ Is this course for me? Our course is designed for students who have been out of school for a while. We realize that many of our students

may not have practiced the topics covered on the exam since college. Our focus is to give you a concise, intensive, and structured review of the important topics on the exam, and we use our workshop sessions to ensure that you get the practice applying your skills in a timed problem solving environment.

Who teaches the classes? Our instructors come from the industry and academia, and are highly qualified in their specialized fields. Each

course is taught by several instructors who have taught the EIT/PE courses for many years at various companies, including British Petroleum (BP), Bechtel, Fluor, Sirrine, Lummus, Texas Instruments, Foster Wheeler, Utility Engineering, City of Austin Electric Utility Department and the Department of Transportation of Texas, Virginia, and Louisiana.

How are Excel Test Courses different from other courses? The course coordinator has been teaching the EIT/PE course for over 30 years, and is very well versed with the format of the exam and what it takes to pass it. Our course is not a college course, which is designed to cover mostly theory. Our comprehensive course is focused only on the exam and helping students pass. Along with the course topics, we teach many tips, techniques, and shortcuts to solve problems and save time. After going through the class, students are not only able to solve the problems but also solve them quickly. As a result of the quality of our courses, we are able to offer the Guarantee of Passing. How does the Guarantee of Passing work? If you attend every class (including mock exams) and still don’t pass your exam, you can repeat the next session of the course absolutely FREE. To get the guarantee for the FE - CBT, you must take the actual exam 60 days after the completion of the course. For the PE exam, the actual exam must be taken within 9 months after the completion of the course. The free repeat is limited to only one time, and it must be used in the next course offered after the results of the actual examination have come in. Subsequent repeats within 18 months will be at 50% of the regular fee. No course is guaranteed to be offered at the previous location or every time the actual exam is given. Does the Guarantee of Passing still apply if l miss a class? All classes in our course need to be attended for the Guarantee of Passing.

This is also for your benefit, as attending all classes will increase your chances of passing. However, we understand that sometimes unavoidable circumstances come up and you are unable to attend a particular class. For that reason, we are flexible in allowing you to miss up to one topic session (day) per course, and the guarantee will still apply. We will also allow you to make-up 4 missed classes for free in parallel courses running in other cities around the country, if you are willing to travel. Which FE Exams do you prepare for? Excel Test offers FE-CBT courses in Civil, Mechanical, and Other Disciplines. Engineers preparing for exams other than Civil and Mechanical are advised to take the Other Disciplines course and exam.

The FE-Computer Based Test or FE-CBT (formerly the EIT) and PE are exams that are required in order to become a licensed engineer. Both exams are developed, administered and scored by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Before registering for an upcoming exam, review your state’s approval and registration process by visiting your state licensing board’s website.

When should I start preparing for the PE exams? You are not eligible to take the PE until you pass the Fundamentals (FE) exam.

Students usually have at least four years of experience in their discipline before taking the PE. Most licensing boards require that your work experience be under a licensed professional engineer’s supervision.

Will the course prepare me enough for my afternoon PE depth exam for PE Civil/PE Mechanical? The review course covers

concepts suited for the breadth (AM) exam preparation as well as in-depth problem solving that focuses on the depth (PM) examinations. However, it will be helpful for you to spend some additional time reviewing topics and material related to the specific PM depth that you choose.

course at least one week before the start date, the fee will be fully refunded. After that date, refunds are given on a pro-rata basis up to two weeks less $250 administrative fee. In order to obtain a refund, there must be a written request for a refund and the return of all materials in an undamaged and unmarked condition. Otherwise the fee is an additional $250 for the course materials. There will be no refund for the classes missed or attended prior to our receipt of the written request, which must be sent only by email to [email protected]. The free repeat has no cash value. No refund will be given for not repeating the course. It is not transferable to any other course or person.

Course Offering Policy Due to the limited number of engineers taking these exams, we may not offer every course in every location. If a course does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement by the early registration deadline, it may be cancelled and any fees paid will be refunded.
