Erasmus Program

A multicultural visit in our school In the frames of the European educational action plan ERASMUS of the University of Thessaloniki, and after the initiative of the foreign language assistant schoolteacher of our school Mrs Benthe Beckmann from Germany and the principal Mr Papadopoulos Stergios, our school unit was visited by 8 foreign students. After being welcomed by Mr Papadopoulos Stergios, Mrs Kosta Vanna (who translated) and the rest of the school personnel, the students had the opportunity to visit certain classrooms and get acquainted with our schoolmates. Here it should it is noted that the students came from Germany, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Austria and France. 5th 2 class with their schoolteacher Mr Parascho Saki welcomed them saying “Good morning” in the language of origin of each one. Afterwards the musician of our school Mrs Panajota Drigoja, with the students of the 5th 2 and 6th 1 class sang various songs of the Greek musical scene, an Albanian and a German song. As their song they selected the English song John Lenon’s “Imagine” so that the visitors could sing along. The children of 4th 1 class with their schoolteacher Mrs Keskilidou Machi, welcomed the students in the classroom and they all played an acquaintance game. The tour was concluded at the school’s gym where the students of the 6th 1 grade with their Physical Education, Mrs Arbanitidou Virginia presented various Greek dances, where our visitors enthusiastically participated. During the school break the visitors wanted to meet the rest of the children so they spent the time with them at the schoolyard taking many photographs. The specific visit was a very positive experience not only for the children of school but, as the visitors stated when they were leaving: it was pure delight to visit our school and particularly they enjoyed the activities (the dance, the songs and the acquaintance game).
