To All Hermanson/Kist Horse Sale Consignors: PLEASE READ- ALL HORSES MUST HAVE CURRENT COGGINS (DATED NO EARLIER THAN: April 8, 2013) BEFORE COMING TO THIS SALE (PLEASE READ BELOW). NO COGGINS TESTING WILL BE DONE AT THE SALE DUE TO STATE VETERINARIAN RULES It has come to our attention from the North Dakota state veterinarian, that if a horse is Coggins tested here and would happen to come back with a positive 1st reading, the whole sale would be quarantined until the horse herd from where this horse originated, would be all Coggins tested and have a negative reading. The horse with the positive 1st reading would have to be retested again also. If a quarantine would happen, any horses that are here on site would not be able to leave the yards until the quarantine is lifted. As you can see, this would be catastrophic for anyone buying or selling. So, our requirement is that you have your horses Coggins tested BEFORE you come to the sale and bring the paperwork with you. SO PLEASE NOTE: YOUR HORSE “WILL NOT” BE UNLOADED or SOLD IF CURRENT COGGINS IS NOT BROUGHT ALONG WITH YOUR HORSE. Please note that this will be mandatory for all future Hermanson/Kist Horse Sales. We have discussed this with Dave Hermanson and he fully agrees with our decision. If you have any questions, please call us at 701-663-9573 or Dave Hermanson at 701-663-6006 or 701-400-8188. NOTE: ALL PAPERWORK NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE KIST OFFICE BEFORE YOUR HORSES ARE SOLD OR THEY WILL BE HELD OUT BACK AND NOT SOLD UNTIL THE PAPERWORK IS OK’D IN THE OFFICE - TOO MANY PROBLEMS TO BE RESOLVED IF PAPERWORK IS NOT CORRECT WHEN HORSES SELL. Thank you for your cooperation with these matters. Diane Givan -- Bookkeeper Kist Livestock Auction, Mandan, ND
