Course Objective (s) At the end of the course, the students will master the following skills. Language skills How to… Read and understand Chinese proverbs: 出门一时难. 在家千日好, 君子报仇 , 十年不晚. Make comparisons; Introduce tourist attractions in China; Indicate the continuity of an act; Read and interpret idioms and expressions ” 善有善报 , 滴水之恩“; Read and interpret a poem; Read and summarize a passage; Write an essay by using 150 Chinese characters. Grammar Adverbs: “ 竟然, 突然, 白, 陆续, 特别, 只是”; Phrases : 不把…放在眼里 , 红人; Conjuctions : 不管… 都 , 于是; Preposition : “ 由于” ; Auxiliary verbs : “ 可+ verb , 可+ verb 的 , verb+ 起来”; Culture The three Gorges of the Yangtze river; Chinese dialects : Sichuan , Guangdong, Fujian…; The Qingming festival.
