Birth, Name Imam Malik (Rahmatullahi alaih) was born in 93 AH in Madina Munawwara in a pious family that were renowned for their knowledge. All his uncles and his grandfather were Ulama.

Imam Nawawi (Rahmatullahi alaih) mentions him having over 900 asaatiza (Teachers). He memorised the Quraan early in his childhood and began to study and memorise hadith. Due to extreme poverty he sold the rafters in his house in order to purchase kitaabs it was due to this sacrifice that he began teaching hadith at the tender age of 17. Thousand studied “Muwatta” under him. Amongst his illustrious students are Imam Shafi, Imam Muhammad, Imam Laith and Abdullah bin Mubarak (R). The “Muwatta” was the first hadith book on the pattern of fiqh. It is a very acclaimed book and many rank it the most authentic kitaab after the Quran. It took him a period of 11 years to compile this kitaab.

Imama Malik (Rahmatullahi alaih), is one of those ulama who never veered from the Haq. Imam Malik (Rahmatullahi alaih) was famous for his piety and staunch obedience to the Sunnah. On one occasion he was busy conducting lessons on hadith when suddenly his face changed colour a number of times. This was noticed by the students

Classroom Expectation Who wished to know the reason. The Imam replied that he was bitten 13 times by a scorpion but due to the respect for the hadith he did not move or close the lesson. His extent of love and respect was such that he never rode an animal in Madina, saying “I feel ashamed to ride an animal on the soil where Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) placed his feet”. Due to his profound love and respect for Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) he himself claims that not a night passed wherein he was not blessed with the noble vision of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) in his dream.

Demise Imam Malik (R) passed away at the ripe age of 86 in Rabiul-Awwal 179 AH. in the blessed city of Madina Munawwarah and is buried in the famous cemetery of Baqee, as was his lifelong desire.

Treat others the way you want to be treated.



Be productive and helpful, use your time wisely.



Do not give personal opinions preference over Qur’an and Sunnah.



Do not make fun of or think low of anybody who has difficulty in learning.



To arrive on time and be punctual.



Inform of your absence and catch up on missed work.



Madrasah will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse towards the teachers and other students.
