2nd CALL FOR PAPERS International Conference INTEGRATED HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE - &HPS5 Institute Vienna Circle and Department of Philosophy, University of Vienna Date: June 26-29, 2014 Location: Campus of the University of Vienna Keynote speakers: Jean Gayon (Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne and IHPST) Jane Maienschein (Arizona State University) Jürgen Renn (Max Planck Institute for the History of Science Berlin) We invite the submission of individual paper abstracts for &HPS5, the 5th conference of a series of international conferences under the general heading of „Integrated History and Philosophy of Science“. Previous conferences took place at the University of Pittsburgh, Center for Philosophy of Science (2007), University of Notre Dame, the History and Philosophy of Science Graduate Program (2009), Indiana University, Department of History and Philosophy of Science (2010), and University of Athens, Department of Philosophy and History of Science (2012). Further information on these conferences: http://www.pitt.edu/~pittcntr/About/international_partnerships/andHPSpage.html Contributions combining the historical and philosophical analysis of science (covering also the social and cultural sciences) or discussing issues surrounding an integrated HPS are welcome. Proposals for papers (Word or pdf format) should contain: - Title and abstract of the paper (1000 words) - In the case of papers dealing with related topics we welcome the submission of proposals for symposia. All titles and abstracts for individual papers in the symposium should be included in the submission. - Address of the speaker incl. email, phone and institutional affiliation Submissions to be sent to: [email protected], subject: “&HPS5” Deadline for submission: January 15, 2014 Date of notification: March 15, 2014 Limited financial support for scholars presenting work at &HPS5 will be available.
