Scope of the Journal Structural engineering is commonly considered a speciality within civil engineering, but it also includes any discipline which has structural system. This field includes the analysis, design, plan, and research of structural components and structural systems. IJStructE is set up to report the relevant generic studies in this field. Contents IJStructE publishes original papers, review papers, technical reports, book reviews, commentaries, and news. Papers on theory, experiment, design, etc., are published and it is expected that many papers will contain aspects of all three. Special Issues devoted to important topics in structural engineering will be occasionally published. Subject coverage: Suitable topics for publication in IJStructE include, but are not limited to: • Analytical and design methods • Blast engineering • Bridges and tall buildings • Case studies • Fire engineering • Infrastructure engineering • Innovative structures • Life assessment and durability • New construction materials • Repairs, strengthening, and maintenance • Structure-fluid-soil interaction • Structural health monitoring • Structural safety and reliability • Testing technologies • Vibration, impact and structural dynamics • Wind and earthquake engineering

What the experts say about IJStructE We are now being tossed in a flood of complicated information, most of which must be useful and effective only if they were correctly classified and clearly proposed to all of us, engineers, designers and researchers on structural engineering. New issue of the International Journal of Structural Engineering (IJStructE) would be welcome for those who are expecting to effectively survey the latest researches and techniques as well as to submit their information to the people interested gathering there. Hope to have an activated forum with the people with the same hope. Prof. Hiroshi Ohmori, Nagoya University, Japan I am happy to see the establishment of this new journal that will provide an outlet for results of new research and applications in all areas of structural engineering. More creative and efficient structures will be a high priority for research and development in the coming years. Introduction of IJStructE is therefore very timely, and this new journal has great potential in promoting and championing research addressing the major challenge of structural engineering.
