It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…… FIAT-- CHRISTMAS ANGEL PROGRAM—Creating “Angel Bundles” CHURCH OF ST. PATRICK IN ARMONK For the last few years, we have developed a wonderful tradition at our church of having Giving Trees in order to help local children in need who are faced with the challenges and heartache of poverty. As we all know, due to trying economic times, those who need our advocacy the most are in need of basic necessities and food and many are children. We ask you once again to visit our Giving Trees in the church vestibule and in Wallace Hall and take an ornament(s) from one of the Christmas trees and purchase the necessities and a small toy or stocking stuffer for the child (a label will be attached to each ornament with the name, gender, age, size and needs of the child). Each ornament represents a child in need of Christmas joy to know that someone did not forget them. We would like you to keep the ornament with the child’s name on it as a special keepsake to hang on your Christmas tree to remind you each year of the hope you brought to another child. Our parish will help the following children this Christmas: 1. The children of Assumption School in Peekskill 2. The babies in the nursery at the Bedford Correctional Facility and some of the teens who visit their mothers at the facility 3. The children at the Bronx YMCA being helped through The Children’s Hope Chest Our hope this Christmas is to have each ornament taken from the Giving Trees and to have all gifts brought to Wallace Hall by Monday, December 12th so we have plenty of time to have all delivered in time for Christmas. We kindly ask that you do the following: 1. Please take an ornament(s) from any of the Giving Trees. 2. Each ornament has a child’s name, gender, age and the specific items needed—many on the list are necessities and a toy/stocking stuffer request. 3. Kindly purchase the items and place them in an “Angel Bundle”—your own Christmas gift bag or one of the plastic bags provided at the Giving Trees, place a holiday ribbon around it and tie the label provided onto the bag so that when we inventory we are assured that each child has an “Angel Bundle”. 4. All items must be NEW and unwrapped—gift bags only please. 5. Deadline: Monday, December 12th! Please drop off all gifts in Wallace Hall and leave under the Christmas tree. (If you wish to make a donation we will buy a gift for you. Kindly make the check payable to: Church of St. Patrick in Armonk. If you wish to put a gift card to Target or to provide a food gift card, kindly place it in an envelope and place it in the gift bag or give it to Vera Scavone, Val Sprague or Allanna Hasselgren). 6. Any questions, please contact Vera Scavone - [email protected] or Val Sprague [email protected]. All of the “Angel Bundles” that we will create will be bundled with your generosity, your kindness and your prayers for children who need us to share our hope and blessings at Christmas. Because of you, Christmas will be merry for many local children who will never forget your hope and your kindness. Thank you for your generosity and for all you do. Merry, merry Christmas! GOD BLESS THE WHOLE WORLD—NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
