OVERVIEW This five-day, instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to use SharePoint as their platform for Business Intelligence (BI) and also journey through the SharePoint business intelligence center, excel services, reporting services, analysis service, PerformancePoint and PowerPivot to implement your BI Strategies and enable decision makers to see data in new and dynamic ways! This course will take students down a path of building a BI environment from scratch to full interactive dashboards using the Microsoft BI Stack. AUDIENCE This course is intended for Senior Business Intelligence Architects and Consultants, Senior Business Analysts and anyone responsible for implementing BI with SharePoint. PREREQUISITES Before attending this course, students must have:  An understanding of the SharePoint 2010 User interface, database reporting concepts and familiarity with data marts and data warehouses. MICROSOFT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL EXAMS Currently there is no Microsoft Certified Professional exam associated with this course. COURSE MATERIALS The student kit includes Microsoft Official Community courseware with lab exercises for the student to keep. Online course companion material is also provided where appropriate. LAB WORK This course includes a large number of practical hands-on exercises designed to help you practice a range of valuable skills, from administering, designing, implementing and troubleshooting many of the key features and functions listed in the associated course modules opposite. Doing this in a safe and controlled environment contributes towards building confidence, further practical knowledge and experience.

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 MODULE 1: OVERVIEW A simple introduction module.  Understand your course and the environment MODULE 2: BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE In this module we review what BI is and what the typical BI goals are. We also explore how Microsoft BI tools are enabling more advanced Business Intelligence features to filter down/up to the decision makers and Information Workers in general.  Business Intelligence MODULE 3: BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE CENTER In this module we are going to explore the Business Intelligence Center site definition that comes with SharePoint 2010.  Business Intelligence Center MODULE 4: DATA MART AND DATA WAREHOUSES In this module we explore what data is and some of the many forms that it takes. We then explore and define the terms Data Warehouse and Data Mart. This module is important in that as we move through the remainder of the course, we will need to have data to manipulate and work with to build our BI components.  Understanding Data and Data Formats  Building Data Marts and Data Warehouses MODULE 5: BUSINESS CONNECTIVITY SERVICES In this module we are going to take a look at the new Business Connectivity Services.  Business Connectivity Services MODULE 6: ANALYSIS SERVICES In this module we will explore the feature of SQL Server called Analysis Services (SSAS). When regular SQL queries can't handle your data, Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) queries in SSAS can.  Analysis Services MODULE 7: FILTER WEB PARTS In this module we will explore Filter Web Parts and the important role they play in building Business Intelligence portals.  Filter Web Parts MODULE 8: EXCEL SERVICES In this module we will explore and work with the various features of SharePoint's Excel Services.  Excel Services MODULE 9: POWERPIVOT In this module we explore the new PowerPivot tools of SQL Server 2008 R2 and Excel 2010.  PowerPivot for SharePoint  PowerPivot for Excel MODULE 10: REPORTING SERVICES In this module we will explore Reporting Services, its integration with SharePoint and how to build Reporting Services reports.  Reporting Services  Reports
