All living beings on this planet earth are influenced by the magnetic forces of astral bodies. In particular, as planets go around the Sun, they have profound effects on each of us through their gravity and magnetism. The term Navagraha denotes the nine celestial bodies which are central to astrological calculations. Guru, or Jupiter, is considered a highly favorable graha or planet in Hindu astrology and it is believed to bring luck and prosperity. Guru (Jupiter) is transitioning from Vrishaba Rashi (Taurus) to Mithuna Rashi (Gemini) on May 30th 2013. Shiva-Vishnu Temple will perform Navagraha Shanti homam on the event of this transit, to balance the effects of the transit and make the period favorable to all of us.
