Congratulations to the following for representing Holy Spirit in the Northeast Kansas District Middle Level Honor Choir held at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School on December 7th. Because they gave him three gifts of fold, frankincense, and myrrh, it is commonly held that there were three wise men. Many believe the Magi were kings. Their visit shows that Jesus had come not only for his own people, the Jews, but also for all people of the world. Jesus is the King of kings.

Catholic Schools Week - Parent’s Choir Parents...do you like to sing? If so, please sign up to sing in the Parent’s Choir for the Catholic Schools Week Mass scheduled for 8:30 a.m., on Wednesday, January 29th. Your child will feel a sense of pride to see you participate AND you’ll be able to meet other Holy Spirit parents! If interested, please contact Connie Maltby at [email protected]. The rehearsal will be held on Tuesday, January 28th from 7:15—8:45 p.m. in the Church.

2014 Spelling Bee Things are a-buzzin’ as we begin the new year! The Holy Spirit School 2014 spelling bee is just around the corner! Classes in grades 5-8 have been holding competitive rounds in their classrooms narrowing down the field to the top 4 students in each grade. A total of 16 top spellers will compete on January 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the Gym in front of the whole school! Parents are invited to come and watch the excitement as we determine who will represent Holy Spirit School at the Johnson County Spelling Bee and the Johnson County Catholic School Spelling Bee.

Lunch Menu—January 13—24, 2014 Our Cafeteria is still out of commission. Sack lunches and bottled water from home is appreciated. We will keep you updated on the status of the kitchen as the week unfolds. Thank you for your help and patience.
