Using a Solid-Phase PCR Method, Faculty of Biology, Technion, Haifa, 2012-2017. Advisor: Prof. Debbie Lindell  Studying cyanophage dynamics in the sea and their impact on cyanobacterial populations  Developing a relatively new molecular methodology "The Polony Methodology" for Investigation of the relationship between cyanophage and their hosts, cyanobacteria in the sea  Assessing the extent of cyanobacterial cell infection by cyanophage of the T7-like podoviruses family, both over the seasonal cycle and along depth profiles in the Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea. Molecular Dissection of Nuclear Pore Complex Assembly in a Cell-Free Reconstitution System, Faculty of Biology, Technion, Haifa, 2010-2012 Advisor: Dr. Amnon Harel  Characterization of nuclear pore complex assembly pathway by molecular and biochemical analysis  Developing a new tool for intervention in the NPC assembly process using the immobilized central domain of the transporter Importinβ  Advancing the assembly process beyond the initial stages and discovering novel architectural intermediates of the NPC biogenesis pathway  Investigating of the order of nucleoporin recruitment from Xenopus egg cytosol and the assembly steps during the NPC biogenesis pathway

RESEARCH TECHNIQUES Knowledge and hands on experience in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry:  Molecular biology techniques: Solid-Phase PCR Method, PCR, DNA extraction and purification, cloning.  Microbiology: plaque assay, culture growth (E. coli, cyanobacteria), phage lysate preparation, virus like particles (VLP) preparation and count, phage infection experiments design and analysis.  Recombinant protein expression and purification in bacteria and pull-down assays.  Flow cytometry sorting and analysis, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, Immunofluorescence, fluorescence microscopy.
