Christmas break (N/A) REQUIRED TEXT: #1 "Foundations in Pentecostal Theology" by Duffield & VanCleave (LBC) #2 "CONCERNING SPIRITUAL GIFTS" by Donald Gee (Radiant Books) You have weekly reading assignments that must be completed before the following Thursday night class. This reading may or may not follow the material covered in class but it is necessary reading for you to have a well rounded understanding of the topic. I will not be able to teach you everything in class about this subject so please read your text books.

II RECOMMENDED BOOKS: "Does God Exist? - Great Debate" by J. P. Moreland (Nelson) "One Holy Passion" by R. C. Sproul (Nelson) "Jesus-Biblical Defense of His Deity" by Josh McDowell (Here's Life) "The Incomparable Christ" by J. Oswald Sanders (Moody Press) "Word Studies on the Holy Spirit" by E. W. Bullinger (Kregel) "Person and Work of the Holy Spirit" by Rene Pache (Moody Press) "The Baptism with the Holy Spirit" by R. A. Torrey (Bethany House) "How to be filled with the Holy Spirit" by A. W. Tozer (CLC) COURSE REQUIREMENTS: A. Six Devotionals studies will be required as directed. (40% of grade) Each Devotion is worth 20 points each. The due date is at the top of each devotional. See example. The devotional studies are constructed in such a way as to enhance your relationship with God. One of the worst sins of all is studying about who God is and not developing a deeper more intimate relationship with Him. Take twenty minutes or more out of each day to work on your devotional. This time must be without distractions. Each entry must be about 50 words long!

Tuesday just read the text no less than five times looking for what the text is saying.

Do

not theologize. Instead just write down what stands out to you.

W ednesday write down what you are learning about God in this passage.

What is reveled

about Him? What is reveled about His character or His attributes?

Thursday reflect on what you wrote the previous two days.

Of the things have you learned

what is lacking in your life? Have you added new sins to your life? What again are you going to do about it? Is there godly character that is lacking in your life like love or patience? What actions are you going to take to correct this?

Friday you want to do just the opposite.

What has God added to your life that is good?

We need to thank Him for it or rest in it. Is there sin that God has removed from your life that you can thank Him for?

Saturday is a written prayer on what you have gained from interacting with this passage. In a sense you are praying Scripture because you are praying the interpretation of it and thanking the Lord for the application that is in your life.

III B. Completion of 3 Student Survey Questionnaires. (20% of grade) Each Survey is worth 20 points each. The due date for all three Surveys is class 8. See attached. This survey is to be taken from acquaintances or strangers but not from good friends or family members or people that you already know are Christians. With politeness complete as many of the questions as possible. If you feel the Lord is ministering to share with the person, you might begin by asking the individual if they would like to hear the "Good News" and that the Bible does give us assurance of where we will spend eternity. You might ask if they want to know the proof of the existence of God. Then go on to share who Jesus is and that He bore our sins on the cross and that whosoever might believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life in heaven. You can share your testimony so you might practice getting it down in three minutes or less. Take one minute to cover your past before Christ. Take one minute as to how you got saved and then one to explain how your life has changed. C. A final exam will be given N/A in the last class. (40% of grade) The exam is worth 120 points. There are 300 points possible for all assignments. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION: 1.
