The Nutcracker Suite Reinterpreted in Holiday Floral Show at The Domes Milwaukee, WI (Nov. 12, 2013) – The classic ballet, “The Nutcracker,” will be reinterpreted as a holiday floral show at The Domes, Nov. 23-Jan. 5. The Domes, Milwaukee’s Living Landmark, is located at 524 S. Layton Blvd.

Poinsettias in shades of red, pink, and white will surround a large holiday tree. As visitors explore the Show Dome, they will come upon scenes from the Land of Sweets, Land of Snow, and the Battle between the mice and toy soldiers. The overlook area of the Show Dome will feature Clara sleeping beside an 8-foot Christmas tree, surrounded by presents. Family-friendly entertainment will include performances by local school and community groups. A schedule will be posted on the website, countyparks.com On Sunday, Dec. 7, from 1-3 p.m., all good girls and boys may share their wish lists with Santa and Mrs. Clause. Holiday show hours are Mon-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with Thursday hours extended until 9 p.m. for Music Under Glass. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, hours will be extended to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25, hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $6.50 for adults; $5 for children age 6-17, students of any age with ID, persons with disabilities, and Milwaukee County Seniors age 60 and up with ID; and Free for children under 6.
